Isaiah 40:18-19 - To whom then will you liken
God? Or what likeness will you compare to Him?

silver chains.
Idolatry is more than ignorant – it is contemptible.

Some use graven images to
represent the True God –
Jehovah.
Golden Calf -
This was not a pagan god from
Egypt.
They were not worshipping the
calf.
They were worshipping Jehovah.

made a proclamation and said,
“Tomorrow is a feast to the

Many deny that they worship
the image.
“We venerate the icon – We
worship who it represents.”
That is exactly what Israel did.

“venerate” and “worship”

A likeness of “things” does not
show God.
Men worship “things” rather than
God.
“Things” cannot show:
Love of God
Mercy of God
Patience of God
Power of God

Why not?
It dishonors you
It does not show
your “good side”
