Relationships: The foundation for producing good results with and through
others.
Leadership: Speaking a future and enrolling others in that future. (i.e. getting
buy in”)
Management: Making requests and securing promises that are direct, specific,
with clear time frames. Leadership must be present for management to be most
effective.
Coaching: Providing support for an individual or team in taking action to
produce measurable results.
Vision: A person’s overriding view of the future that inspires and energized. It
is grounded in a person’s core values and beliefs.
Mission: A compelling statement about the future in a selected area in life such
as work. Generally, missions reflect a shared view of the future for a group such
as a leadership team or company division. It often includes values and beliefs
shared by the group members as well as a view of the future they make possible
for themselves and other key stakeholders.
Goals: The targets and outcomes that will support the team mission. Goals are
still viewed as futures with a higher degree of focus. Most organizations have a
variety of goals that when combined fulfill the organizational mission.
Measurable Results: The scoreboards that show progress toward the goal.
Sales, profits, earnings, ROI, turnover rates, growth rates, project due dates are
some common examples of measurable results.
Action Items: These are the methods and activities used to produce the
measurable results.
