IAG Personal Tutor Role ,[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object]
New CE/IAG requirements for Schools ,[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object]
21 st  century IAG: Excellent IAG in Schools Now The Future Low profile, lack of awareness ( staff and pupils) Benefits not understood. Whole school approach. Shared understanding of positive effects on motivation and achievement. Personal tutor informed and knowledgeable to give initial advice and information on decision making and post 14 -19 choices Careers Co-ordinator not part of or reporting to SMT and often has no specialist training Senior Manager for IAG in each school. Head Teacher requests internal reviews and progress reports on IAG delivery .Lead for IAG is a  senior manager and has  probably undertaken specialist qualification Teaching: lacks creativity/innovation and not always ready to challenge Teaching should be inspirational. Encouraging ambition, challenging stereotypes.  IT under used “ State of the art on line IAG resources, accessible 24/7 “ Parental involvement limited Parents recognised as key influencers

  • 6. 21 st century IAG: Excellent IAG in Schools Now The Future Low profile, lack of awareness ( staff and pupils) Benefits not understood. Whole school approach. Shared understanding of positive effects on motivation and achievement. Personal tutor informed and knowledgeable to give initial advice and information on decision making and post 14 -19 choices Careers Co-ordinator not part of or reporting to SMT and often has no specialist training Senior Manager for IAG in each school. Head Teacher requests internal reviews and progress reports on IAG delivery .Lead for IAG is a senior manager and has probably undertaken specialist qualification Teaching: lacks creativity/innovation and not always ready to challenge Teaching should be inspirational. Encouraging ambition, challenging stereotypes. IT under used “ State of the art on line IAG resources, accessible 24/7 “ Parental involvement limited Parents recognised as key influencers
