This 3-day tour through Spain focuses on wine tasting and nature activities in Ribera del Duero. Day 1 includes visits to Madrid and optional dinner. Day 2 involves traveling north to Hacienda Zorita Wine Hotel & Spa for wine tastings and lunch. Day 3 includes visiting Hacienda Zorita's organic farm and natural reserve, with accommodations on the border of Portugal. The tour concludes on Day 4 with a return trip to Madrid via Segovia.

Vintage & Nature, in a perfect day

by the Duero Nature Reserve (Arribes do Douro National Park), a protected
natural area with endemic species that we can observe in their natural habitat
(different species depend on season).

Segovia is Spain and Castile at its best - twisting alleyways, the highest concentration
of Romanesque churches in all of Europe, pedestrian streets where no cars are

park with miles of shaded walks. On the north-west extreme of the wall is the famous

9. HACIENDA ZORITA (Salamanca)
Salamanca, cultural capital of the Duero Valley, is home to the magnificent
wine resort with an impressive history that dates back to the 14th century.
This former Dominican monastery, the place where Cristóbal Colón stayed
before discovering America, is now a Wine Hotel & Spa situated above the
river, with 40 rooms recreating the old Dominican cells, and has facilities
designed for guests to enjoy their stay and the experience of wine, food and
nature.
Its restaurant Zorita Kitchen is the gastronomic focus of Hacienda Zorita.
Situated right in the middle of the Duero Valley, one of the most outstanding

10. HACIENDA ZORITA Organic Farm (Salamanca)
Just a quarter of an hour from the Hacienda Zorita we find ourselves in the
meadows of the Duero Valley, surrounded by hills covered in ilexes and natural
pastureland. In this protected environment it is possible to see Castilian
churras sheep and Campania buffalo, whose milk is used to make the raw-milk
‘pastureland flan’ and the Durius All Natural mozzarella, and our acorn-fed
Iberian pigs whose meat is cured in drying-cellars.
You can see the wild bulls running loose; and the vines and groves of olives
typical of the Arribes del Duero and with which we make our extra virgin olive
oil.
Then we visit the production centre for the Duero Durius All Natural, natural
food products, nestling in the pastureland, where we learn how our cheeses are
made and how our acorn-fed pork is cured in cellars. We learn the secrets of
our extra virgin olive oil.
The Hacienda Zorita Organic Farm is a pioneer in the techniques of natural
organic farming in Spain.
