JOB FUNCTION: Marketing

JOB DESCRIPTION: Queens Council on the Arts is looking for help crafting their brand messaging!
Our signature function is to give out grants to local artists working many disciplines such as dance, music, film, visual
arts to enhance the lives of people in diverse communities. Queens reigns as the most diverse county in the entire
galaxy and we think we are fabulous because our work transforms lives. Emerging artists become validated and

2. We are asking for brand messaging now because QCA is a 40 year-old arts service organization that has suffered
from an identity crisis. Now that we are moving into our own accessible space in Astoria (Queens), we believe this is
a great opportunity to establish a strong presence and brand. This space was created to reflect the needs and desires
voiced by the diverse artists communities of Queens and there is no other space in Queens similarly dedicated to
serve emerging artists. Within our new space we will have the capacity to hold art classes for students, panel
meetings for funding opportunities, networking events and artists driven gatherings, skill sharing opportunities and
sharing of works in progress. We need to increase our street presence, elevate awareness in the artist community,
excite new donors and partners in order to become the go-to site for artists to come together as a vibrant community. The brand identity developed in this project will lay the foundation for a subsequent Catchafire professional to
help us devise our marketing strategy and an annual marketing plan to get the word out about this exciting initiative.
