2. Introduction
 As a co-founder of Cougar Biotechnology, Inc., Dr.
Lindsay Rosenwald helped to spearhead the
development of a drug now marketed as Zytiga.
 Dr. Lindsay Rosenwald also assisted in the development
of the cancer-fighting drug arsenic trioxide.

3. About the Study
 In a recent study led by scientists in the Cancer
Outcomes Research Program at the University of North
Carolina Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, a
combination of Zytiga and the drug prednisone was
shown to slow down pain progression in men with
advanced prostate cancer.
 The finding was important in preserving the quality of life
for those patients, as pain sometimes proves an effective
predictor of survival.

4. Results
 The study included 1,088 men with metastatic-castrationresistant prostate cancer that had already spread
elsewhere in their bodies.
 Pain progression took eight months longer on average for
men who took Zytiga and prednisone.
 Additionally, more time elapsed before the pain
interfered with their daily activities and impacted their
quality of life.
