Romans 1:1 I, Paul, am a devoted slave of Jesus Christ on assignment, authorized as an apostle to proclaim God's words and acts. I write this letter to all the Christians in Rome, God's friends.
2 The sacred writings contain preliminary reports by the prophets 3 on God's Son. His descent from David roots him in history; 4 his unique identity as Son of God was shown by the Spirit when Jesus was raised from the dead, setting him apart as the Messiah, our Master.
5 Through him we received both the generous gift of his life and the urgent task of passing it on to others who receive it by entering into obedient trust in Jesus. 6 You are who you are through this gift and call of Jesus Christ! 7 And I greet you now with all the generosity of God our Father and our Master Jesus, the Messiah.
Right off Paul declares who he is, ( an apostle ) and what his job is. ( authorized … to proclaim God's words and acts .) He then reminds them that the sacred writings ( Old Testament ) provided information about God’s Son, Jesus.
Being a descendant of David plants him in history. The Spirit showed His unique identity as God’s Son when He was raised from the dead.
Then He proceeds to explain how the gift of life was given through Him and how it is urgent to pass that information on to others so they can receive the gift of life by obedience to Him.
What's more, they are who they are because of that gift and call of Jesus. He greets them with The Father’s and His Son, the Messiah’s generosity . With all this in mind Paul calls them to task in the second chapter.
Romans 2:5 You're not getting by with anything. Every refusal and avoidance of God adds fuel to the fire. The day is coming when it's going to blaze hot and high, God's fiery and righteous judgment. 6 Make no mistake: In the end you get what's coming to you--
7 Real Life for those who work on God's side, 8 but to those who insist on getting their own way and take the path of least resistance, Fire!
Every time you refuse or avoid doing God’s will you’re adding fuel to the fire. Other translations give the idea of instead of making the fire bigger you’re actually storing up God’s wrath so it will be unloaded on you all at once.
In verse 6 I think that point comes through: Make no mistake: In the end you get what's coming to you-- with that being said, those that do what God has called them to do receive real life, but those who don’t get FIRE!
9 If you go against the grain, you get splinters, regardless of which neighborhood you're from, what your parents taught you, what schools you attended. 10 But if you embrace the way God does things, there are wonderful payoffs, again without regard to where you are from or how you were brought up.
11 Being a Jew won't give you an automatic stamp of approval. God pays no attention to what others say (or what you think) about you. He makes up his own mind.
No matter who you are, if you go against the grain, act opposite of what God asks, the result is the same, you get hurt in the end.
The flip-side brings a wonderful payoff! No matter who you are or where you came from God will reward you for obedience.
If you sin without knowing what you're doing, God takes that into account. But if you sin knowing full well what you're doing, that's a different story entirely. 13 Merely hearing God's law is a waste of your time if you don't do what he commands. Doing, not hearing, is what makes the difference with God.
How true the old saying is, Don’t just “Talk the Talk” “Walk the Walk!” God knows your heart and your actions.
GOD HAS SET THINGS RIGHT Rom 3:22 The God-setting-things-right that we read about has become Jesus-setting-things-right for us. And not only for us, but for everyone who believes in him. For there is no difference between us and them in this.
23 Since we've compiled this long and sorry record as sinners (both us and them) and proved that we are utterly incapable of living the glorious lives God wills for us, 24 God did it for us. Out of sheer generosity he put us in right standing with himself. A pure gift.
He got us out of the mess we're in and restored us to where he always wanted us to be. And he did it by means of Jesus Christ.
God sacrificed Jesus on the altar of the world to clear that world of sin. Having faith in him sets us in the clear.
God decided on this course of action in full view of the public--to set the world in the clear with himself through the sacrifice of Jesus, finally taking care of the sins he had so patiently endured.
26 This is not only clear, but it's now--this is current history! God sets things right. He also makes it possible for us to live in his rightness.
God is all-knowing! He knew humans would be unable to live the glorious life He requires. So He put into action a plan that would transform us from incapable people to people cleared of their sinful ways.
It was Jesus who set things right and made it possible for us to be shed of our sinful records and brought us into a glorious relationship with the Father.
Rom 4:17 We call Abraham "father" not because he got God's attention by living like a saint, but because God made something out of Abraham when he was a nobody.
Isn't that what we've always read in Scripture, God saying to Abraham, "I set you up as father of many peoples"?
Abraham was first named "father" and then became a father because he dared to trust God to do what only God could do: raise the dead to life, with a word make something out of nothing.
18 When everything was hopeless, Abraham believed anyway, deciding to live not on the basis of what he saw he couldn't do but on what God said he would do. And so he was made father of a multitude of peoples. God himself said to him, "You're going to have a big family, Abraham!"
Abraham didn't focus on his own impotence and say, "It's hopeless. This hundred-year-old body could never father a child." Nor did he survey Sarah's decades of infertility and give up. 20 He didn't tiptoe around God's promise asking cautiously skeptical questions.
He plunged into the promise and came up strong, ready for God, 21 sure that God would make good on what he had said. 22 That's why it is said, "Abraham was declared fit before God by trusting God to set him right."
23 But it's not just Abraham; 24 it's also us! The same thing gets said about us when we embrace and believe the One who brought Jesus to life when the conditions were equally hopeless.
25 The sacrificed Jesus made us fit for God, set us right with God.
We talked about the need for 2 or 3 witnesses a week or two ago. Can you see a second witness by comparing what Paul wrote in the 2nd chapter with what he writes in the 4th ?
Abraham did as God required and had faith God would do what he said. In the 2nd chapter we saw the need to believe God will reward obedience.
In the 4th we see Abraham believed God would reward obedience. Furthermore we learn from the scriptures God did exactly what he promised to Abraham. Can we have any doubt He will reward us for our obedience?
Rom 5:1 By entering through faith into what God has always wanted to do for us--set us right with him, make us fit for him--we have it all together with God because of our Master Jesus.
2 And that's not all: We throw open our doors to God and discover at the same moment that he has already thrown open his door to us.
We find ourselves standing where we always hoped we might stand--out in the wide open spaces of God's grace and glory, standing tall and shouting our praise.
Do you see a 2nd witness comparing the 3rd chapter with the 5th ? God’s plan sets people right with Him because of our Master Jesus.
Because of our obedience to Our Master Jesus we throw open our doors to God and find God has already thrown open his door to us.
So we find ourselves right where we and God want us to be; in the wide open spaces of God's grace and glory, standing tall and shouting our praise.
3 There's more to come: We continue to shout our praise even when we're hemmed in with troubles, because we know how troubles can develop passionate patience in us, 4 and how that patience in turn forges the tempered steel of virtue, keeping us alert for whatever God will do next.
5 In alert expectancy such as this, we're never left feeling shortchanged. Quite the contrary--we can't round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit!
In our faith and obedience to The Master Jesus we never find ourselves shortchanged. God gives us more than we could ever contain.
6 Christ arrives right on time to make this happen. He didn't, and doesn't, wait for us to get ready. He presented himself for this sacrificial death when we were far too weak and rebellious to do anything to get ourselves ready.
And even if we hadn't been so weak, we wouldn't have known what to do anyway. 7 We can understand someone dying for a person worth dying for, and we can understand how someone good and noble could inspire us to selfless sacrifice.
8 But God put his love on the line for us by offering his Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to him.
The Christ Jesus didn’t wait on mankind to get ready for Him. He took on His role as a sacrifice to end all sacrifices showing His and God the Father’s love for us.
Now that we are set right with God by means of this sacrificial death, the consummate blood sacrifice, there is no longer a question of being at odds with God in any way.
10 If, when we were at our worst, we were put on friendly terms with God by the sacrificial death of his Son, now that we're at our best, just think of how our lives will expand and deepen by means of his resurrection life!
11 Now that we have actually received this amazing friendship with God, we are no longer content to simply say it in plodding prose. We sing and shout our praises to God through Jesus, the Messiah!
Now that we know and understand the consummate blood sacrifice we don’t act reserved. We sing and shout our praises to God through Jesus, the Messiah!
Rom 6:1 So what do we do? Keep on sinning so God can keep on forgiving? 2 I should hope not! If we've left the country where sin is sovereign, how can we still live in our old house there
3 Or didn't you realize we packed up and left there for good? That is what happened in baptism. When we went under the water, we left the old country of sin behind; when we came up out of the water, we entered into the new country of grace--a new life in a new land!
Witness #1: Knowing God’s grace is abundant should we continue to sin so God can pour out more and more grace? NO! we packed up and left that sinful life.
Paul writes; That is what happened in baptism. When we went under the water, we left the old country of sin behind; when we came up out of the water, we entered into the new country of grace--a new life in a new land!
That's what baptism into the life of Jesus means. 4 When we are lowered into the water, it is like the burial of Jesus; when we are raised up out of the water, it is like the resurrection of Jesus.
5 Each of us is raised into a light-filled world by our Father so that we can see where we're going in our new grace-sovereign country.
Witness #2: In baptism the sinful body died and was buried when we went down into the water. The old sinful life was done away with when we came out of the water a new person saved by grace.
6 Could it be any clearer? Our old way of life was nailed to the Cross with Christ, a decisive end to that sin-miserable life--no longer at sin's every beck and call!
What we believe is this: 7 (SEE 6:6 ) 8 If we get included in Christ's sin-conquering death, we also get included in his life-saving resurrection. 9 We know that when Jesus was raised from the dead it was a signal of the end of death-as-the-end.
Never again will death have the last word. 10 When Jesus died, he took sin down with him, but alive he brings God down to us.
11 From now on, think of it this way: Sin speaks a dead language that means nothing to you; God speaks your mother tongue, and you hang on every word. You are dead to sin and alive to God. That's what Jesus did.
Witness #3: Our old way of life was nailed to the Cross with Christ, a decisive end to that sin-miserable life. In baptism we died with Christ, hence our old sinful self was put to death.
Since this is true, we also get included in his life-saving resurrection. So far as those obedient to Christ are concerned sin has been done away with. We can’t understand its language any more. We should only understand God’s language, the language of life.
12 That means you must not give sin a vote in the way you conduct your lives. Don't give it the time of day. 13 Don't even run little errands that are connected with that old way of life.
Throw yourselves wholeheartedly and full-time--remember, you've been raised from the dead!--into God's way of doing things. 14 Sin can't tell you how to live. After all, you're not living under that old tyranny any longer. You're living in the freedom of God.
Have nothing to do with sin! Throw yourselves wholeheartedly and full-time----into God's way of doing things. Witness #4 remember, you've been raised from the dead! This must only mean your old person had to of died to be raised from the dead.
Your sinful being died, and was buried (in the water of baptism,) , you've been raised from the dead! (out of the water of baptism) into the Grace of God.
Witness #5: After all, you're not living (it died in the water of baptism) under that old tyranny any longer. You're living (raised alive out of the water of baptism) in the freedom of God.
15 So, since we're out from under the old tyranny, does that mean we can live any old way we want? Since we're free in the freedom of God, can we do anything that comes to mind?
Witness #6: since we're out from under (it died in the water of baptism) the old tyranny. we're free (raised alive out of the water of baptism) in the freedom of God. This being the case, can we do as we please?
16 Hardly. You know well enough from your own experience that there are some acts of so-called freedom that destroy freedom. Offer yourselves to sin, for instance, and it's your last free act. But offer yourselves to the ways of God and the freedom never quits.
All your lives you've let sin tell you what to do. 17 But thank God you've started listening to a new master, 18 one whose commands set you free to live openly in his freedom!
20 As long as you did what you felt like doing, ignoring God, you didn't have to bother with right thinking or right living, or right anything for that matter. 21 But do you call that a free life? What did you get out of it? Nothing you're proud of now. Where did it get you? A dead end.
22 But now that you've found you don't have to listen to sin tell you what to do, and have discovered the delight of listening to God telling you, what a surprise! A whole, healed, put-together life right now, with more and more of life on the way!
23 Work hard for sin your whole life and your pension is death. But God's gift is real life, eternal life, delivered by Jesus, our Master.
This is what it boils down to: work for sin and the reward is death. Live for God and the reward is real life, eternal life. What is your decision, death or life? By default you’re headed for death. By choice, your reward is life.

June 3-9-07 Romans 1 6

  • 1. Romans 1:1 I, Paul, am a devoted slave of Jesus Christ on assignment, authorized as an apostle to proclaim God's words and acts. I write this letter to all the Christians in Rome, God's friends.
  • 2. 2 The sacred writings contain preliminary reports by the prophets 3 on God's Son. His descent from David roots him in history; 4 his unique identity as Son of God was shown by the Spirit when Jesus was raised from the dead, setting him apart as the Messiah, our Master.
  • 3. 5 Through him we received both the generous gift of his life and the urgent task of passing it on to others who receive it by entering into obedient trust in Jesus. 6 You are who you are through this gift and call of Jesus Christ! 7 And I greet you now with all the generosity of God our Father and our Master Jesus, the Messiah.
  • 4. Right off Paul declares who he is, ( an apostle ) and what his job is. ( authorized … to proclaim God's words and acts .) He then reminds them that the sacred writings ( Old Testament ) provided information about God’s Son, Jesus.
  • 5. Being a descendant of David plants him in history. The Spirit showed His unique identity as God’s Son when He was raised from the dead.
  • 6. Then He proceeds to explain how the gift of life was given through Him and how it is urgent to pass that information on to others so they can receive the gift of life by obedience to Him.
  • 7. What's more, they are who they are because of that gift and call of Jesus. He greets them with The Father’s and His Son, the Messiah’s generosity . With all this in mind Paul calls them to task in the second chapter.
  • 8. Romans 2:5 You're not getting by with anything. Every refusal and avoidance of God adds fuel to the fire. The day is coming when it's going to blaze hot and high, God's fiery and righteous judgment. 6 Make no mistake: In the end you get what's coming to you--
  • 9. 7 Real Life for those who work on God's side, 8 but to those who insist on getting their own way and take the path of least resistance, Fire!
  • 10. Every time you refuse or avoid doing God’s will you’re adding fuel to the fire. Other translations give the idea of instead of making the fire bigger you’re actually storing up God’s wrath so it will be unloaded on you all at once.
  • 11. In verse 6 I think that point comes through: Make no mistake: In the end you get what's coming to you-- with that being said, those that do what God has called them to do receive real life, but those who don’t get FIRE!
  • 12. 9 If you go against the grain, you get splinters, regardless of which neighborhood you're from, what your parents taught you, what schools you attended. 10 But if you embrace the way God does things, there are wonderful payoffs, again without regard to where you are from or how you were brought up.
  • 13. 11 Being a Jew won't give you an automatic stamp of approval. God pays no attention to what others say (or what you think) about you. He makes up his own mind.
  • 14. No matter who you are, if you go against the grain, act opposite of what God asks, the result is the same, you get hurt in the end.
  • 15. The flip-side brings a wonderful payoff! No matter who you are or where you came from God will reward you for obedience.
  • 16. If you sin without knowing what you're doing, God takes that into account. But if you sin knowing full well what you're doing, that's a different story entirely. 13 Merely hearing God's law is a waste of your time if you don't do what he commands. Doing, not hearing, is what makes the difference with God.
  • 17. How true the old saying is, Don’t just “Talk the Talk” “Walk the Walk!” God knows your heart and your actions.
  • 18. GOD HAS SET THINGS RIGHT Rom 3:22 The God-setting-things-right that we read about has become Jesus-setting-things-right for us. And not only for us, but for everyone who believes in him. For there is no difference between us and them in this.
  • 19. 23 Since we've compiled this long and sorry record as sinners (both us and them) and proved that we are utterly incapable of living the glorious lives God wills for us, 24 God did it for us. Out of sheer generosity he put us in right standing with himself. A pure gift.
  • 20. He got us out of the mess we're in and restored us to where he always wanted us to be. And he did it by means of Jesus Christ.
  • 21. God sacrificed Jesus on the altar of the world to clear that world of sin. Having faith in him sets us in the clear.
  • 22. God decided on this course of action in full view of the public--to set the world in the clear with himself through the sacrifice of Jesus, finally taking care of the sins he had so patiently endured.
  • 23. 26 This is not only clear, but it's now--this is current history! God sets things right. He also makes it possible for us to live in his rightness.
  • 24. God is all-knowing! He knew humans would be unable to live the glorious life He requires. So He put into action a plan that would transform us from incapable people to people cleared of their sinful ways.
  • 25. It was Jesus who set things right and made it possible for us to be shed of our sinful records and brought us into a glorious relationship with the Father.
  • 26. Rom 4:17 We call Abraham "father" not because he got God's attention by living like a saint, but because God made something out of Abraham when he was a nobody.
  • 27. Isn't that what we've always read in Scripture, God saying to Abraham, "I set you up as father of many peoples"?
  • 28. Abraham was first named "father" and then became a father because he dared to trust God to do what only God could do: raise the dead to life, with a word make something out of nothing.
  • 29. 18 When everything was hopeless, Abraham believed anyway, deciding to live not on the basis of what he saw he couldn't do but on what God said he would do. And so he was made father of a multitude of peoples. God himself said to him, "You're going to have a big family, Abraham!"
  • 30. Abraham didn't focus on his own impotence and say, "It's hopeless. This hundred-year-old body could never father a child." Nor did he survey Sarah's decades of infertility and give up. 20 He didn't tiptoe around God's promise asking cautiously skeptical questions.
  • 31. He plunged into the promise and came up strong, ready for God, 21 sure that God would make good on what he had said. 22 That's why it is said, "Abraham was declared fit before God by trusting God to set him right."
  • 32. 23 But it's not just Abraham; 24 it's also us! The same thing gets said about us when we embrace and believe the One who brought Jesus to life when the conditions were equally hopeless.
  • 33. 25 The sacrificed Jesus made us fit for God, set us right with God.
  • 34. We talked about the need for 2 or 3 witnesses a week or two ago. Can you see a second witness by comparing what Paul wrote in the 2nd chapter with what he writes in the 4th ?
  • 35. Abraham did as God required and had faith God would do what he said. In the 2nd chapter we saw the need to believe God will reward obedience.
  • 36. In the 4th we see Abraham believed God would reward obedience. Furthermore we learn from the scriptures God did exactly what he promised to Abraham. Can we have any doubt He will reward us for our obedience?
  • 37. Rom 5:1 By entering through faith into what God has always wanted to do for us--set us right with him, make us fit for him--we have it all together with God because of our Master Jesus.
  • 38. 2 And that's not all: We throw open our doors to God and discover at the same moment that he has already thrown open his door to us.
  • 39. We find ourselves standing where we always hoped we might stand--out in the wide open spaces of God's grace and glory, standing tall and shouting our praise.
  • 40. Do you see a 2nd witness comparing the 3rd chapter with the 5th ? God’s plan sets people right with Him because of our Master Jesus.
  • 41. Because of our obedience to Our Master Jesus we throw open our doors to God and find God has already thrown open his door to us.
  • 42. So we find ourselves right where we and God want us to be; in the wide open spaces of God's grace and glory, standing tall and shouting our praise.
  • 43. 3 There's more to come: We continue to shout our praise even when we're hemmed in with troubles, because we know how troubles can develop passionate patience in us, 4 and how that patience in turn forges the tempered steel of virtue, keeping us alert for whatever God will do next.
  • 44. 5 In alert expectancy such as this, we're never left feeling shortchanged. Quite the contrary--we can't round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit!
  • 45. In our faith and obedience to The Master Jesus we never find ourselves shortchanged. God gives us more than we could ever contain.
  • 46. 6 Christ arrives right on time to make this happen. He didn't, and doesn't, wait for us to get ready. He presented himself for this sacrificial death when we were far too weak and rebellious to do anything to get ourselves ready.
  • 47. And even if we hadn't been so weak, we wouldn't have known what to do anyway. 7 We can understand someone dying for a person worth dying for, and we can understand how someone good and noble could inspire us to selfless sacrifice.
  • 48. 8 But God put his love on the line for us by offering his Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to him.
  • 49. The Christ Jesus didn’t wait on mankind to get ready for Him. He took on His role as a sacrifice to end all sacrifices showing His and God the Father’s love for us.
  • 50. Now that we are set right with God by means of this sacrificial death, the consummate blood sacrifice, there is no longer a question of being at odds with God in any way.
  • 51. 10 If, when we were at our worst, we were put on friendly terms with God by the sacrificial death of his Son, now that we're at our best, just think of how our lives will expand and deepen by means of his resurrection life!
  • 52. 11 Now that we have actually received this amazing friendship with God, we are no longer content to simply say it in plodding prose. We sing and shout our praises to God through Jesus, the Messiah!
  • 53. Now that we know and understand the consummate blood sacrifice we don’t act reserved. We sing and shout our praises to God through Jesus, the Messiah!
  • 54. Rom 6:1 So what do we do? Keep on sinning so God can keep on forgiving? 2 I should hope not! If we've left the country where sin is sovereign, how can we still live in our old house there
  • 55. 3 Or didn't you realize we packed up and left there for good? That is what happened in baptism. When we went under the water, we left the old country of sin behind; when we came up out of the water, we entered into the new country of grace--a new life in a new land!
  • 56. Witness #1: Knowing God’s grace is abundant should we continue to sin so God can pour out more and more grace? NO! we packed up and left that sinful life.
  • 57. Paul writes; That is what happened in baptism. When we went under the water, we left the old country of sin behind; when we came up out of the water, we entered into the new country of grace--a new life in a new land!
  • 58. That's what baptism into the life of Jesus means. 4 When we are lowered into the water, it is like the burial of Jesus; when we are raised up out of the water, it is like the resurrection of Jesus.
  • 59. 5 Each of us is raised into a light-filled world by our Father so that we can see where we're going in our new grace-sovereign country.
  • 60. Witness #2: In baptism the sinful body died and was buried when we went down into the water. The old sinful life was done away with when we came out of the water a new person saved by grace.
  • 61. 6 Could it be any clearer? Our old way of life was nailed to the Cross with Christ, a decisive end to that sin-miserable life--no longer at sin's every beck and call!
  • 62. What we believe is this: 7 (SEE 6:6 ) 8 If we get included in Christ's sin-conquering death, we also get included in his life-saving resurrection. 9 We know that when Jesus was raised from the dead it was a signal of the end of death-as-the-end.
  • 63. Never again will death have the last word. 10 When Jesus died, he took sin down with him, but alive he brings God down to us.
  • 64. 11 From now on, think of it this way: Sin speaks a dead language that means nothing to you; God speaks your mother tongue, and you hang on every word. You are dead to sin and alive to God. That's what Jesus did.
  • 65. Witness #3: Our old way of life was nailed to the Cross with Christ, a decisive end to that sin-miserable life. In baptism we died with Christ, hence our old sinful self was put to death.
  • 66. Since this is true, we also get included in his life-saving resurrection. So far as those obedient to Christ are concerned sin has been done away with. We can’t understand its language any more. We should only understand God’s language, the language of life.
  • 67. 12 That means you must not give sin a vote in the way you conduct your lives. Don't give it the time of day. 13 Don't even run little errands that are connected with that old way of life.
  • 68. Throw yourselves wholeheartedly and full-time--remember, you've been raised from the dead!--into God's way of doing things. 14 Sin can't tell you how to live. After all, you're not living under that old tyranny any longer. You're living in the freedom of God.
  • 69. Have nothing to do with sin! Throw yourselves wholeheartedly and full-time----into God's way of doing things. Witness #4 remember, you've been raised from the dead! This must only mean your old person had to of died to be raised from the dead.
  • 70. Your sinful being died, and was buried (in the water of baptism,) , you've been raised from the dead! (out of the water of baptism) into the Grace of God.
  • 71. Witness #5: After all, you're not living (it died in the water of baptism) under that old tyranny any longer. You're living (raised alive out of the water of baptism) in the freedom of God.
  • 72. 15 So, since we're out from under the old tyranny, does that mean we can live any old way we want? Since we're free in the freedom of God, can we do anything that comes to mind?
  • 73. Witness #6: since we're out from under (it died in the water of baptism) the old tyranny. we're free (raised alive out of the water of baptism) in the freedom of God. This being the case, can we do as we please?
  • 74. 16 Hardly. You know well enough from your own experience that there are some acts of so-called freedom that destroy freedom. Offer yourselves to sin, for instance, and it's your last free act. But offer yourselves to the ways of God and the freedom never quits.
  • 75. All your lives you've let sin tell you what to do. 17 But thank God you've started listening to a new master, 18 one whose commands set you free to live openly in his freedom!
  • 76. 20 As long as you did what you felt like doing, ignoring God, you didn't have to bother with right thinking or right living, or right anything for that matter. 21 But do you call that a free life? What did you get out of it? Nothing you're proud of now. Where did it get you? A dead end.
  • 77. 22 But now that you've found you don't have to listen to sin tell you what to do, and have discovered the delight of listening to God telling you, what a surprise! A whole, healed, put-together life right now, with more and more of life on the way!
  • 78. 23 Work hard for sin your whole life and your pension is death. But God's gift is real life, eternal life, delivered by Jesus, our Master.
  • 79. This is what it boils down to: work for sin and the reward is death. Live for God and the reward is real life, eternal life. What is your decision, death or life? By default you’re headed for death. By choice, your reward is life.
