Research Category #3 Sports Growth in popular sports Sporting events, tournaments, and games Sports celebrities  Attitudes and perceptions toward women and minorities Famous records set
Research Category #4 War and Politics Key political leaders  Enemies and allies Wars and military actions Political events and movements Principal players (political parties, countries and people)
Research Category #5 Technology, Science and Innovation Prominent scientists and inventors Mind blowing inventions Medical breakthroughs Major accomplishments Trains, Planes and Automobiles
Research Category #6 Disasters Destruction and Mayhem Natural Disasters  Hurricanes, Volcanoes, Earthquakes, etc. Manmade Disasters Ecological   Technological/Industrial
Project Requirements Each group will be responsible for contributing: Cheetah Decades Wiki Participation - 20 pts Decades Table: at least 1 event per decade with explanation, media links, and source links Media choice should represent the decade, be prepared to justify your choice 1 event that shows what was going on in Grand Junction related to your category Multimedia Timeline – 20 pts Minimum 10 events that contain image/audio/video files Daily Work Grade – 5 pts/day Optional – for enhanced grade Bring in artifacts from any decade in any category
Resources  Books and print: Start with books and print materials to build a framework of essential information related to your research category. Take notes on Defining events Important people Innovations and advances
Resources  Electronic Resources: Use electronic resources to search for images, audio and video that captures the essence of your decade. Draw on primary source material in Library of Congress and other sites  Whenever possible, use media that is licensed for re-use (creative commons, public domain, GNU). Some copyrighted material may be used, but ALL must be given proper attribution. Analyze for authenticity and importance to the decade
Planning Work as a TEAM. Discuss project requirements and divide duties in a fair and equal manner. TEAMWORK!
