Stand Out From The Crowd!

Make an impression that lasts.
• Where are you making a difference? What are you doing that counts for something? Why does your life
matter?
• Go above the norm.
• Decide what standing out from the crowd means for you.
• Standing out from the crowd won't happen if you're thinking with the crowd. Think for yourself.
• Take chances or risks and work hard.
• Do things differently.
• People who stand out from the crowd are people who keep their word and follow up their promises to
help, to be somewhere, to do something for someone.
• Standing out from the crowd often means that you take action while everyone else stands
back, wondering what to do next.
• It's not enough to be an authority on something -- you have to be the authority to get recognized
• Be the best in your field. Have some trait that is exclusive to you and don't be a generic idiot like most
people.

There are a few key ways to ensure you are going to be
somebody.

Treating others as you want to be treated. Be kind to everyone you encounter. The more
pleasant you are to be around, the more you will be noticed and remembered.

Do your best work and always do the right thing every step along the way. Good work ethic is an
attractive quality and shows that you are able to be loyal and dedicated to a job or a relationship.

Help people whenever you can. Be concerned with what is going on around you. Be supportive
and generous in your actions and dealings with the people in your life.

Be true to yourself. Do what feels right to you while taking into consideration the effects of your
actions on others. Your confidence will show others that you have leadership qualities and that
you have something to offer.

MAINTAIN A POSITIVE ATTITUDE. People will flock to you if you have a smile on your face and a
positive outlook on life. Your attitude is an example that encourages other people to be the best
that they can be.

Decide What Standing Out From The Crowd Means For You.

• Is this about looking as different from everyone else around you as you can possibly be or is it
about going the extra mile to prove that you are one of a kind in skills, talent, or personality?

• Standing out from the crowd might be about trying to live your best and be your best. Or, it
might be about trying to have a unique style or look that you've created yourself without
borrowing from other people's ideas.

• At its most basic, standing out from the crowd means embracing your individuality and
trusting that your own choices are good ones.

• The person you're projecting out to everyone will stand out more successfully if you're fully
confident about yourself.

Being Somebody Means Being Who You Are.

• Don't do things that other people do just to be cool.
• Hang out with people that make you comfortable--don't hang out with popular people just
because you want the publicity, maybe you will find out that they make you uncomfortable.
Leave them alone. Hang out with people that share the same interests with you.
• Being a somebody shouldn't take work. It should come naturally and effortlessly.
• You Were Born to Be Somebody: Feel it, Dream it, Believe it and Be it.
• Earning the attention you deserve will be the hardest, scariest, most gruelling thing you do.
But it will also be the most rewarding.
• Why you need you to do what so few are willing to do: to be different. To take the initiative.
To courageously go where no one’s gone before.

Think for yourself.
• Standing out from the crowd won't happen if you're thinking
with the crowd.
• While there will be times when the crowd-think does align
with your own thoughts, what about all those times it hasn't?
• Be prepared to voice your differences, your concerns, and
your preferences.
• When talking, it is important to come across as self-assured
and knowledgeable, so be sure to have done your research
and know your facts beforehand.

Do you want to be outstanding?
• You’ve probably heard someone say before that if you want to set yourself apart
that you have to do everything with excellence.
• Excellence is a high standard. It takes a lot of work. You can’t go about pursuing it
half-heartedly.
• Everything in life has a price. If you want to be outstanding, then living a life of
excellence is the price you pay for it. Are you up to the challenge? Are you willing
to give what it will take? If so, then you will reap the rewards.

Integrity.
No matter how good you are at what you
do, integrity is a foundational trait that is
required for excellence. Just look at what has
happened to Tiger Woods. Need I say more?

• Whatever you do, do it with passion. Be all in. Put your heart
into it.
• It takes passion to be outstanding. What makes your heart
and mind race? Go do that. It doesn’t have to be something
exotic or highfalutin. It just has to be something that you
love. Something that you can totally get behind. Live with
passion!

Generosity.
• Truly outstanding people are generous in helping others get
what they want.
• They graciously give their time, talents and energy to
worthwhile endeavours.
• This generosity always seems to come back to them tenfold.

Willingness.
Outstanding people have a willingness to get
involved that is absent from the masses. This
willingness will lead you to all kinds of
opportunities that others simply miss.

Temperate.
• Those that excel manage their emotions.
• You must be emotionally intelligent.
• You want to appear calm under pressure and keep your head about you
even when others are panicking.
• You also want to avoid extremes in behaviour. Practice moderation
because it is wise.
• This temperance makes you trustworthy. People that do these things tend
to advance beyond others in their field.

Creative.
• The problems in today’s world are complex.
• They are multi-faceted.
• Therefore, it takes someone with a healthy dose of creativity to solve
them.
• Problem solvers are the folks you want on your team.
• They are the ones that dream up solutions that make you stand out.
• Be a creative problem-solver and you will be outstanding.

Courage.
• Courage is not the absence of fear. It is being afraid and acting anyway.
• If you want to be outstanding, then you have to be willing to lean into your fear. You’ve got to take
chances. Yes, failure could result, but it will not be the end of the world.
• You simply have to get up, dust yourself off and try again.
• Have more courage than the other person and you will be extraordinary.
• It takes courage to go where no one else has gone. It takes the heart of a pioneer and the mind of an
engineer — to set out for the Promised Land and build the road as you go.
• You have to be brave enough to wander off the worn path and make a new one. And no one will be
walking with you those first few steps. So be prepared.

Optimistic.
Every outstanding person I’ve ever met has been an
optimist. You simply have to believe that success is
possible because if you don’t, you won’t even
try. Trying is the only way that you are going to achieve
the excellent results that makes you outstanding.

Humility is where gentleness, kindness, patience and generosity
are born. If you are great, you don’t have to step on others or
make a big show of it. You can be secure in who you are. A big
part of true excellence is about how you treat other
people. Outstanding people that are humble are well thought of

We all posses the seed for being Outstanding, it’s just that some
of us haven’t fully bloomed yet. We all have the
capabilities, imagination, and foundation to achieve
extraordinary results.

The secret lies in having a clear target, following our
heart, taking continuous small steps, acting despite
fear, adjusting as we proceed and keeping moving without giving
up.

• Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be
trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s
thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner
voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and
intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become.
