2. 1 All of the ancillary texts are set in the woods, therefore keeping the theme of the film simple but effective to the audience also a common setting in the horror genre 3 From my research I found that it was important to show the name of the film in all of the ancillary texts, therefore I included them in all of mine to ensure that the audience knows the name of the film every time they see them. I have inserted our production logo ‘JLP’ in all my ancillary texts, to ensure that they all look professional and link together as one production company. 2
3. The model is hiding which produces rhetorical questions about her and keeps the audience guessing whether or not she is the victim or villain. This effect is used also throughout the trailer, poster and webpage, therefore keeping the audience interested and wanting to find out who the villain really is. 4 Killer? Victim? Who’s the killer? Who’s the victim? We decided to use a plain white font in the trailer to keep the trailer looking simple, professional and high quality and a coloured font would not have achieved this within the trailer itself. To make the poster and webpage flow together and look professional, I kept the title font and colours the same for both pieces. This therefore allows the audience to recognise the advertisement straightway simply by the font style and colour. 5
5. From research I found that most posters and trailers included reviews, therefore I decided to use some in both the trailer and on the poster. Therefore encouraging the audience to watch the trailer and also to watch the film itself, therefore the reviews are important part in convincing the audience that they must watch the trailer/film. 1 E.G 2 I used a one colour effect in both my poster and webpage to give it a unique effect. I chose to use this effect as a result of being influenced by film noir, but I have developed this effect by adding a colour tint and also fully coloured sections. By using this effect it helps to develop and increase the features of an image/shot so that it becomes more effective. To the audience. E.G
7. On the webpage the actors are hidden as only their legs are visible, therefore keeps their identity of the killer a secret from the audience, therefore keeping the interested in finding out who it is. 1 Walking Running This technique is also used in the trailer a number of times when something happens to a character or they are being chased, we also used the same shot of only the legs being shown. Therefore creating questions to the audience about who is the villain and who are the victims. 2 Chasing I also carried the red and white theme throughout the poster and webpage, therefore linking them together, so that the audience will know the two items are linked too the same film, therefore making them look professional to the public.
