The Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur area has a Mediterranean inspired
cooking. It uses a lot of olive oil, olives (like in the tapenade), garlic,
aromatic herbs called « Herbes de Provence ».
Vegetables such as courgettes, aubergines, peppers, tomatoes are also
very popular in its cooking.
In the South and the centre of the area you can also taste lamb cooked
in a lot of different ways and a lot of fishfood .
We could also speak about Cavaillon melons, Apt candied fruits, Aix
marzipan, Queyras cheese, Côte d’Azur vineyards and the essential
