5. Vision
The BS/ADV Alumni Mentoring Program will provide students with one of the most valuable
resources they will have as they transition into the professional world – the counsel of those who have been in their
shoes. By facilitating and fostering personal connections
between students and alumni, the BS/ADV Alumni Mentoring Program will increase the
personal confidence and professional readiness of graduating students. Additionally, the program will help to sustain
the ties between alumni and the MCAD community.
Alumni and future alumni will have a bridge through which to connect and on which to build new
relationships and foster old ones.

10. Student Interviews
I would be very honored to be a
mentor to an MCAD student
someday.
-Emma
Is a person who helps you transition from school
to the working world. Someone you can go to
for advice, someone who turns into a friend, and
is hopefully established in the industry you want
to be in.
-Patrick
If I were seeking an alumni mentor I would do three things…
One, go to career services office and ask, but that’s a lie.
Two, ask current student or alumni I know.
Three, Talk to Jerry Allen.

20. Branding
Midpoint
We chose the name “Midpoint” both for its simplicity and its symbolism. The Alumni
Mentoring Program exists to create a common space between current students and alumni,
where they can forge connections on a common ground. “Midpoint” represents this neutral
space. Spring 2011’s gallery show and event week are a culmination of the restructuring of
the program, but also the beginning of its execution. The exhibition is seen as a comma,
rather than a period – the midpoint of the project and a launching point for success.
