I was travelling from Dublin to Celbridge last week and was shocked to see a threatening accident right
in front of me when an SUV running at more than 150 km/hr applied sudden brakes, don’t know the
reason why he applied those brakes but the BMW running behind SUV couldn’t control itself and
smashed directly into it. I changed my lane, parked my car in service land and rushed to the spot; the
BMW driver was bleeding badly. I instantly called emergency number and again rushed to my car, took
the first aid kit, came back and straight away gave the treatment to him. The person instantly needs to
be given first aid before ambulance could make it to the accident spot as this might make the difference
between his life and death.
The BMW driver was unconscious due to the accident I applied the medicine over his head from where
the blood was coming out, and it stopped within few minutes. The Emergency services reached the spot
after a few minutes and took him to the hospital; they appreciated my work that I gave him first aid and
also said his condition would have become more worst if I wouldn’t have been there on time. I thanked
one of my uncle’s as it was his advice which made me to go through first-aid training few years ago and
I got certified training from an reputed institute.
Now, I feel the same that everyone should take a first-aid course as the problems never knock at your
