At Above Grade Level we believe that every student is smart and can be successful academically. Above Grade Level
In-HomeTutoring is so effective that there is a guarantee students will progress by at least one grade level when using
mastery programs. Why the guarantee? Tutors begin mentoring a student with a clear understanding of what the
student needs. That’s because the student has taken a third-party assessment that analyzes strengths and gaps in
different content areas such as mathematics. Knowledge from the assessment allows Above Grade Level to customize
a curriculum for the student. So the tutor begins tutoring with a clear understanding of what the student needs to
master a particular level of mathematics or other subjects. The curriculum was developed by an international team of
educational experts and the content is continuously revised and updated to ensure that a child receives the best
instruction possible. Although there are various tutoring chains, Above Grade Level offers unmatched quality.
Above Grade Level tutors are carefully selected to provide caring instruction. A prime consideration for students who
are struggling with a particular academic subject is positive reinforcement. Above Grade Level tutors understand how
important it is to praise students for their successes in tutoring. Students gain the confidence and skills needed to
succeed at school and in their future careers. Tutors also help students with the math or English materials that they are
currently studying in class, especially as students prepare for tests and quizzes. Parents won't have to drive their child
around town or worry that the tutors aren't giving them enough personal attention. Parents can be present during
tutoring sessions.
Above Grade Level In-Home Tutoring provides internationally proven in-home tutoring and academic enrichment
programs based on over 30 years of experience in assisting students. Above Grade Level works with a wide variety of
students, including thosewho want to maintain good grades, those who want to moveahead academically by engaging
in challenging enrichment programs, and those who want to overcome academic difficulties at school.
The process begins with a FREE comprehensive online Skill Level Evaluation. For more information visit

ABOVE GRADE LEVEL
2. Kelley J. Laird is a graduate of East Tennessee State University where she studied Public Health Administration. As a
student she worked on many community education projects and was part of a community partnership program funded
through the W.K. Kellogg foundation. This partnership reached local schools through the same grant you will find
currently partnering with Morehouse College to study health disparities. TheW.K. Kellogg Foundation (WKKF),foundedin
1930 as an independent, privatefoundation bybreakfast cereal pioneerWill Keith Kellogg. It is among thelargest philanthropic
foundations in theUnited States. Guided by thebelief that all childrenshould havean equal opportunity to thrive,WKKFworks
with communities to create conditions forvulnerable children so they can realize their full potential in school, work and life.
Kelley worked to promote healthy habits with measurable outcomes in the local schools and participated in development of
programs designed to improvehealth through education. The program focused in many areas from farm safety to study
skills but the common outcomewas that health coupled with education is the building block of a healthy community.
This developed one of her core values and beliefs: in society such as ours, there is no single factor that can improve
community and social mobility more than improving education and the skills needed for learning. As a professional
successful in field sales for a major pharmaceutical company for many years, Kelley educated physicians on the
importance of patient education and the value of empowering the patient on making informed decisions to drive
healthy habits.
Bringing these same skills before AboveGrade Level, sheis passionate about closing the gaps that the classroom cannot
always achieve. One on one tutoring can make a difference for every child. Improving academic and study skills in an
environment where the child can work at their own pace and relieve peer pressure will build any student to success.
This is the driving force behind her desire to help students be successful academically and is a majorreason she became
a franchisee for Above Grade Level.
In her spare time Kelley spends time with her family. She has twin boys who are students in Gwinnett County, it is
through them that she has learned to appreciate the school system and all it offers. The opportunities are endless for
our children if they build their foundation in thevery competitiveacademic market. Her family values their timetogether.
Both boys play basketball and swim. Her husband loves coaching the boys and together they all like to visit historic
spots and science museums. The twins enjoy traveling to the coastal areas of South Carolina, their dad’s native state.
Kelley loves politics and follows things such as education and healthcare reform. She served as a TN state legislative
intern for the 99th
Assembly in college and continues an interest in state and local politics. You will catch her at most
any educational outreach that she can possibly fit into her schedule. Often she will volunteer for various agencies and
typically spends some time each year volunteering here or there for her church and school.
