Radiation can be useful but also dangerous. There are two types - non-ionizing radiation like infrared that is generally safe, and ionizing radiation like X-rays that can cause cancer. Exposure to increasing amounts of radiation causes symptoms from nausea to hair loss to organ damage and eventually death. Nuclear bombs immediately kill many people with radiation, while nuclear plant accidents release radioactive particles that long-term can increase cancer rates. Radiation must be carefully managed to balance its benefits with ensuring public safety.

Radiation is a very useful
technology for our life. However,
it has some dangerous side.

3. There are two types of radiation.
1. Non-ionizing radiation. This radiation is
used in our life. For example, infrared, radio
waves, cellphone and micro waves.
2. Ionizing radiation. This radiation cause
cancer. For example, X-rays, gamma rays,
alpha particles and beta particles.

4. What are symptoms caused by radiation.
First, if we are exposed 500,000
microsieverts, the radiation cause
nausea, fatigue and vomiting.
Second, if we are exposed 750,000
microsieverts, the radiation cause
hair loss and diarrhea.

5. What are symptoms caused by radiation.
Third, if we are exposed 1 million
microsievert, the radiation cause
sserious diarrhea and dehydration
happens because intestinal lining is
destroyed.
Finally, if we are exposed 4 million
microsieverts, the radiation cause lose
own consciousness and death.

6. Dangers about a nuclear bomb
Nuclear bomb burst itself and
irradiate X-rays and gamma rays.
In Hiroshima, 166,000 Japanese
people were killed by a nuclear
bomb in first four months.

7. Dangers about nuclear plants
Fukushima nuclear plants are not
emitting X-rays and gamma-rays.
But radiocesium and radioiodine
has probability to increase
cancers.

Radiation bring us to some serious
effect. We should think that how to
use it for our life safety.
