Company History LululemonAthletica was founded in 1998 by Chip Wilson after he took one of the first commercial yoga classes offered in Vancouver BC. Naming the Brand: Through the use of a survey of 100 people, they chose lululemon from a list of twenty brand names and twenty brand logos. The logo is a stylized "A" which was designed for one of the different brand names.  Location: The first location was in the Kitsilano area in Vancouver, which opened in November 2000. Headquarters: 2285 Clark Drive in Vancouver BC, Canada V5N 3G9 Concept: The store was meant to be a “community hub” where people could learn and discuss the physical aspects of healthy living from yoga and diet to running and cycling as well as the mental aspects of living a powerful life of possibilities.
Company Overview Mission: Creating components for people to live a longer, healthier, more fun life. Vision: Elevating the world from mediocrity to greatness. Product: We create components designed by athletes for athletes. Goal: Our goal was to train our people so well that they could in fact positively influence their families, communities and the people walking into our stores. Product Information A broad variety of athletic clothing is available for all active individuals.  State of the art materials for the benefits of the consumer.  Signature fabric, luon, is great for training as it keeps the moisture from your body and in the fabric, keeping you dry.  Many features to all the Lulu product lines.
Product Sales Advantages Feature:Signature Luon Fabric Advantage: Keep you dry so you can run and train hard without having to stop for a swear break. Specific Benefit: This will keep the athletes in better shape, pushing them to excel at their sport.  Feature: Preshrunk Fabrics Advantage: Don’t have to worry about clothes shrinking, or stretching. Specific Benefit:  Clothes fit just as great after wash as when they are new, which keeps athlete well dressed, and focused on their sport not having to worry of bulky clothing.
Product Sales Advantages Continued Feature:Continuous Draw cords Advantage: Cord won’t fall out in the washer. Specific Benefit: The draw cords are kept tucked inside the garment, keeping it out of the way of the consumer, letting the athlete play without worries of catching on things or other people.  Feature: Embolized Clothing Advantage: Promotes the team name awareness Specific Benefit:  Having the team name on the uniforms promotes the team gaining a bigger support system. The bigger the support system the more a team tries to win their game for the fans.
Product Sales Advantages Continued Feature: Flat Seaming Advantage: Prevents chafing and irritation cause by bulky seams.  Specific Benefit: Having a seam that irritates your skin puts the athlete at a disadvantage as they are distracted from their task. The flat seaming enables the individual to focus completely on their activity. Feature: Hair Elastic Zippers Advantage:Zipper is a hair elastic, for those moments when you need one and don’t have one. Specific Benefit: Having an emergency hair elastic is great for those athletes with longer hair. This enables the athlete to take care of their problem, allowing them more time to prepare for their sport.
Product Sales Advantages Continued Feature: iPod Pockets Advantage: Keeps the iPod secure, and cord kept tucked away. Specific Benefit: While training individually, or as a team the iPod pockets keep the ipod secure and the cord out of the way. This was there is nothing being caught on the cord, preventing the risk of injury.  Feature: Cuffins on Jackets Advantage: Built in mittens to keep hands warm. Specific Benefit: Having the cuffins available on team uniform jackets are great for outdoor sports. Athletes can keep their hands warm while warming up, enabling them to play to their fullest extent.
