Northern – Core Trade application – Systems Analyst

Project Description This project involves the support and enhancement of Trade and Trade Capture applications. Trade
application is the most critical and entry point of trades to Northern. Trading application captures
the trades from different investment managers from various sources like swift network using Bank
identifier code (BIC), secure FTP, FAX, MQ. Manual trades can be entered through Trade Passport
tool by the business partners. All trades gets executed based on the cutoff details of depositories
(DTCC, FED & Canadian). In case of cutoff extension, Northern Trust will take an advantage of trade
execution within that particular time. Trade application will send the trades from investment
managers to various systems (Web trade services, Real time trade applications, Fund master
(Global trades), Derivatives (Summit, Colline). Trade system will validate the account, asset,
nominal, broker, depository information before executing the trade. Same day settlement will have
more priority than T+3 execution. Northern also handles the claim for the trade if it was not
executed on the day of settlement.
