1. 3 Frame Analysis

2. • The first thriller I will be talking about is ‘The House At The End Of The Street’ as seen
below:

Camera angles
Mise en scene
• The lighting in this scene is quite dim as it is still light outside but she has decided to
leave the curtains close as she wants the whole room to be locked off but decides to
keep the lamp on to have more of a chance to see what is happening.
• The camera angle that is used is a long shot showing the broken room which seems to
not have been decorated in a extremely long time. It also includes her whole body
with her posture showing how she seems distressed but still sitting down but is aware
something strange is going on.
• Mise en scene in this scene shows its hot outside by her clothing, there is not many
props in this except a bed, lamp and some of her personal belongings on the shelf's in
her bedroom and only shows one character even though at this time people start
believing there's more then one.

3. The Purge
• The second thriller I will be talking about is ‘The Purge Two’ as seen below:
• The purge two is a thriller where one night a year, everything is legal, meaning if you
have problems with someone that is the night to do it. In this movie it is based over a
household where they let a man in trouble in who is running from a group of young
adults seen below.
• The lighting in this scene is effective because in that moment the light is coming from
the front door showing how they are brave and ready to get there hand dirty.
• The camera angle used in this scene is above the head shot which is shown from the
security camera from the house this is powerful because it shows how close they are
too the house and also it is able to show all the people who have arrived.
• Mise en scene is used to show what type of people these ‘killers’ are when it is not
purge day. They are all dressed quite formally except one wearing a hoodie this shows
what type of characters these people are being well spoken and dressed and seem to
look after themselves even though they have a lot of rage and anger which they want to
release on purge day. This also shows the set being right outside the family’s household.

4. Inception
• The third thriller I will be talking about is ‘Inception’ as seen below:
• Inception is a physiological thriller which is known to confuse many people with a
twist of an ending which is one of the reason why it is such a powerful movie and
talked about so much.
• The lighting used in this scene isn’t as effective as the others as the main lighting is
the sunlight which is shown to be brighter further away from the camera shot
which is closer to the sun
• The camera shot which is used is an over the shoulder/ establishing shot to show
how everything is destructing, this an extremely powerful camera shot as it shows
the character and his where about while everything is going wrong. Even though
the camera is not directly behind him you can still his point of view.
• Mise en scene is very powerfully used here as the set used is very unordinary and
quite huge showing how the world is somehow bending. The only character you
can see is Leonardo Di Caprio which is seen to be amazed and confused staring at
what is happening, in this movie he dresses very formally which is shown here
seeing him wearing a suit.
