2. Who is who
• The Norwegian Oil and Gas Association is a professional body and
employer’s association for oil and supplier companies engaged in the field
of exploration and production of oil and gas on the Norwegian Continental
Shelf. NOSG works to solve common challenges for the members and to
strengthen the competitiveness of the Shelf.
• The Geodata Trading Operator (GTO), is a part of the Norwegian Oil and
Gas association whose objective is to ensure the best possible flow of
data between all oil companies on the Norwegian Continental Shelf by
providing a centralised administration of the data exchange process.
• The Norwegian Oil Scout Group (NOSG) is also part of the Norwegian
Oil and Gas association. This is a group of Oil company representatives
that are responsible for information exchange between the companies.
• Almost every company working on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (50+)
is a member of the Norwegian Oil and Gas Association and has a Scout
representative in NOSG.
4. It looks clean, but...
Why is the
lithological report not
there?
I have not
delivered that one to
DISKOS yet!

5. Idea and Design
• Convert NPD reporting guidelines into digital rules
• Create a virtual “complete” dataset of data for the traded objects
• Match the two and mark data as “Delivered” if they exist in DISKOS
DISKOS

2.17 Core Plug Photograph
8.06 Petrophysical
Interpretation Report
5.11 Geological Report
5.13 Lithological Report

9. Benefits
• A great time saver for the Geodata Trade Operator, reducing the amount of
negotiations between the trade parties regarding the availability of data
following the trade.
• Indirectly allows the NPD to have a more accurate and complete control
over the reporting from the Operators, as the Scout Web “reminds” them
nicely of reporting obligations they might have not fulfilled completely.
• The system allows the Operators on the Norwegian Continental Shelf to
better monitor the completeness of their reporting to NPD.
• The data Scouts in NOSG have now a more structured and efficient
process to monitor the completeness of their trade agreements.
