Duties, Accomplishments and Related Skills:
• Served as the single technical point of contact for a Network Operations Center for nine years,
performing all of my duties without supervision. Responsible for resolving client issues worldwide.
• Adept at identifying system problems by determining the accuracy and relevance of incoming
information to make sound judgment and generate and evaluate alternatives to make
recommendations by: monitoring computer systems, system jobs and connected devices to quickly
identify problems or errors; ensuring quick resolution by correcting issues or escalating to proper
support technician: and by providing direct operational services and assistance to users on and
offsite, to ensure the highest level of service and business system availability was attained.
• Provided first line user support, and worked with clients and customers including: programmers,
end users, and vendors; assessed their needs and provide information to resolve their problems.
Some of the services and assistance I provided was: access to Transmission Control
Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), which allowed clients access to secure user profiles required
for active projects; resolving Cisco Server alerts; approving MS Exchange active directory requests;
generating and distributed authentication keys for Virtual Private Network (VPN) access; and
responding to password resets requests.
• Coordinated the installation and upgrade of various network equipment including: IBM AS/400,
Cisco Servers, IBM RS6000, Tape Library, and DS8000 disk.
• Responsible for mitigating system risk and data loss, which was accomplished by strict adherence
to established practices, procedures, and protocols; requiring a great level of attention to detail to
ensure that the system, network and data were always protected. Some of these practices,
procedures, and protocols employed were: verification of system redundancies, performance of
proper system power down sequences, performance and verification of system backups, and
performing pre and post testing and data verification.

the worksite. Also responsible for maintaining site user activity logs.
• Conducted, as part of a team, Automated Information Systems (AIS) disaster recovery scenarios,
which involved implementing emergency security contingency plans and procedures. This included
simulating catastrophic system failures, which required shutdown of the primary system, fallback
to secondary offsite system which required user testing of data in full simulated business mode.
• Highly adept at crisis management. Solely responsible for monitoring all vital systems and
assembling appropriate team members in the event of a catastrophic system failure. Also tasked
with notifying all management personnel and affected business units, and providing progress
updates, as they would become available, until the situation was fully resolved.

management personnel; suggested upgrades, modifications or other changes that helped to
improve system performance and operational efficiency; and created and implemented
companywide documentation changes.
• Knowledgeable in the use of current Information Technology security practices, threats, trends and
technologies. Maintained network MIMIX software used to replicate New York production data at
an emergency backup site in Boston, eliminating system downtime and data loss in event of
primary site disruption. Managed security threats by acting as the first line of security defense
responsible for providing all levels of system access, including distribution and oversight of all
secure system passwords, verification and encryption technologies, and monitored trends and
threats by receipt of communication updates from organization security director.
• Created new documentation and procedures, and implemented changes to existing
documentation. Disseminated changes to network operation center staff which included updating
departmental standard operation procedures (SOPs), as well as providing instructions, and
documentation regarding startup and shutdown procedures, and one time programmer requests.

other system improvements.
