background of professional experience at senior management level. My career experience spans across a
diverse spectrum of industrial and commercial services sectors. I have a profound understanding of
financial matters, having had full corporate finance, treasury management, budgeting, business modeling,
and financial analysis and reporting responsibilities - throughout the development of my professional
career. Moreover, my operational versatility, alongside my analytical and composed problem-solving

My career experience extends across a broad range of commercial sectors, including manufacturing
industries, such as: clothing manufacture; industrial and marine paint coatings; light engineering, as well
as hi-tech electronic equipment. Moreover, I have also gained considerable experience in various trade
and service related sectors, which include international passenger transportation; storage and conveyance
of petroleum products; travel & tourism; catering, hospitality, as well as commercial and residential real
estate management. I have also undertaken freelance consultancy work in the areas of finance, business
strategy and personnel recruitment services.
Over the years I have travelled extensively on professional assignments, across Europe as well as other
remote destinations. My international experience has given me valuable exposure to diverse cultures,
business management practices, as well as to particular administrative and legal procedures, which are
unique to specific countries.

2. Professional Career History
SmartCity (Malta) Limited April 2014 – Present
Position: Financial Controller
Company Activity: Development and Management of a multi-million Commercial and Residential Real
Estate Project – in collaboration with the Government of Malta.
Responsibilities:
Assigned the task of cenrtalising all financial recording and reporting functions – previously
overseen by SmartCity Dubai – with a view towards setting up an autonomous and fully-fledged
local Finance Department.
Palm City Limited September 2011 – March 2014
Position: Financial Controller
Company Activity: Management and administration of an up-market Residential Real Estate
Complex; namely Palm City Residences, Janzour, Tripoli – Libya.
Responsibilities:
Complete responsibility over the Company’s accounting records and regular financial reporting
functions; including the improvement and maintenance internal control procedures, budgeting,
cost variance analysis, credit control, cash flow management, as well as overall supervision
over purchasing and warehousing activities.

Position: Financial Controller/Administration Manager
Company Activity: Manufactue of EFT Point of Sale Terminals
Responsibilities:
Responsible for all financial control, recording and reporting functions of two local companies;
namely Di Limited and Dionica R&D Ltd., as well as direct responsibility over dealings and
negotiations with local and foreign financial iinstitutions, as well as international suppliers of raw
materials and components.
Between 2000 and 2003, I was entrusted in the role of Group CFO, which gave me direct control
and reporting responsibilities over related group companies in Italy, Spain, Slovakia, Czech
Republic, Ploand and two subsidiary companies in Sao Paolo – Brazil.
The Virtu Group of Companies October 1986 – June 1998
Position: Group Financial Controller
Group Company Activities: Industrial and Domestic Paints Manufacturers (Hempels Marine Paints)
Storage & Conveyance of Petroleum Products, Travel, Tourism and Passenger Ferry Transportation.
Responsibilities:
Fully responsible for the financial control and reporting functions of all group companies;
reporting to the Board of Directors.
During my time at the Virtu Group, I was also assigned with the task of initial design and implementation
all the financial control and reporting systems of Virtu Ferries Ltd. I was also instrumental in the design and
implementation of the passenger ferry reservations and ticketing IT systems, with full integration features
with monthly invoicing procedures, revenue control and statistical reporting analysis.
