 The PMP exam relies on understanding the PMBOK®
Guide as a basis for situational questions.
 You must understand the tasks in each Performance
Domain.
 Definitions in the PMBOK® Guide Glossary are
important to learn.
 Many questions will require you to know inputs, tools
and techniques, and outputs of processes to determine
how to handle a particular situation.
 When there is a table in the PMBOK® Guide, it’s likely
there will be questions, e.g. pg. 22.
 Be aware of the flow from one process to another.

 Get a good night’s rest
 Begin with a positive attitude and accept that
you will not know all the answers
 Get to the exam site early
 Write out formulas and anything else memorized
on the scratch paper as soon as you arrive
 Use the tutorial to understand and get
comfortable with the computer

exam
 4 hours to do 200 questions is 1.2 minutes
per question – plenty of time!
 Relax before and during the exam
 Read each question carefully – try to stay
focused and keep at a good pace but don’t

 Think about what the answer should be and in
what format before reading the choices, e.g.
 Cost performance index will be a number in a
decimal format
 Look for your proposed answer in the choices
