Purpose:
To assemble and/or install interior components of a passenger railcar that supports the organization’s
production goals and objectives while meeting and/or exceeding customer expectations
Essential Duties:
 Consistently demonstrate ability to read and/or interpret interior drawing(s) and technical
guidance(s)
 Layout piece parts by use of various measuring tools and install through various methods
 Install batten/walls of railcar and adjust to fit
 Install floor material and carpet by use of rubber, liquids, glue, epoxy, etc.
 Install heat insulation by use of glue and adjust to fit
 Install roof and wall finishing materials and adjust to fit
 Install all trim work by use of screws and rivets
 Drill, tap, countersink, and rivet stainless steel and mild steel
 Consistently demonstrate understanding of core assembly methods
 Comply with all regulatory compliances/standards such as FRA, OSHA, EPA, ADAAA etc.
 Interface with other team members productively and share information as required
 Follow all company policies, procedures and safety rules
 Maintain a clean and orderly work area
 Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
 High School Diploma/GED
 1 to 2 years fast paced manufacturing experience
 Ability to read and interpret basic drawings and specifications for interior components and design
 Ability to read and interpret dimension by use of tape measure, etc.

 Ability to use hand tools proficiently, such as: clamps, drill, tap, screw driver, hacksaw, file, screws,
glue applicator, sealant applicator, utility knife, air tools, electric tools and hydraulic tools
Desired Qualifications:
 Ability to build and finish complex assemblies
 Experience in metal fabrication, or carpentry experience
 Strong work ethic with a heightened level of attention to detail
 Works well with deadlines
 Works well in a team environment

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
 100% working in manufacturing environment
 Ability to walk, stand, crouch, bend, kneel, lift, carry, reach as needed in large and tight spaces
 Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. above head and work overhead
 Ability to team lift up to 100 lbs. overhead
Travel Requirements:
 Less than 10% of travel required
