1. CHAPTER TWO
LITERATURE REVIEW
In this chapter, some relevant literatures related to this topic will be presented.
The chapter will be divided into several subtopics, namely: (Dependent
Variable, Independent Variable 1, 2, 3… )
2.1 DV
2.2 IV 1
2.2.1 IV 2
2.2.2 IV 3
2. CHAPTER THREE
In this chapter, the research design and data analysis will be presented.
Section 3.1 explained the types of research design that employed in the
study as well as the sampling methodology. Section 3.2 outlines the data
analysis methods used in the study.
3.1 Research Design
This is a quantitative study and in term of its application, it is a
(exploratory/descriptive/causal/predictive) study. A total of (120) respondent
will be selected in this study. Looking at the sampling frame, all the
(undergraduates) in (Malaysia) were included in the sampling frame.
Meanwhile, only those undergraduates in (UCTI) would be selected as the
potential respondents.
For sample selection, this study had employed (Quota sampling) method by
controlling the gender (2 cells) and age group (2 cells) factor. A total of 120
respondents were selected based on ratio 50:50 which represented category
of Malay: male and female and equally divided into age group category. In
details, a total of 60 female respondents and 60 male respondents from age
group “below 20 years” and age 21 or above will be selected in this study
OR
For sample selection, this study had employed convenient sampling where a
total of 120 undergraduates in UCTI campus will be selected conveniently
regardless of any attributes.
A pilot test of the questions was conducted before collected the real data for
this study. The purpose of the test was to identify any items that may be
difficult to comprehend and revised them prior to conducting this survey. Pilot
test of the questions was also useful to check for the reliability of the
questions and estimated time required to complete the survey questions. The
pre-test was conducted among 10 respondents that had been chosen from
the real sample.
3. 3.2 Data Analysis
The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS for Windows version
19) was used to analyze the data. The main statistical analysis was
descriptive statistics, i.e., frequency, percentage, mean and standard
deviation were calculated to describe respondents’ background. Item’s mean
value and standard deviation were computed for the hours a day use the
internet, how long had been on the internet and how long have been
shopping online. Independent sample t-test was performed to determine the
significant difference in attitude towards online shopping behavior between
male and female. Meanwhile, Pearson Moment Product Correlation was
utilized to assess the relationship between independent variable (ages) and
dependent variable (attitude towards online shopping behavior).
