Six weird iPhone apps
1. Six weird iPhone apps
Having recently spent a few days in
Canada’s North with no cellular service, I
can attest how necessary a smartphone
had become for many Canadians in our
day to day lives.
These six weird iPhone apps, however,
are completely unnecessary.
Not to mention at least a little (or a lot)
weird.

2. Bowel Mover Pro
$2.99
Still tracking your bodily intake and
outtake with pen and paper like a
chump? Come into the 21st century
with Bowel Mover Pro.
For just $2.99, monitor what you
eat, tack when you visit the
restroom, and learn what diet really
gets your bowel moving. You can
even share the results.
Just not with me, please.
3. Hold On!
99 cents
How long can you hold down a button
on your phone? No, not tap it
repeatedly – that’s what I do when my
BlackBerry freezes.
For 99 cents this app times – down to
the millisecond – how long you can
hold a button. You can even compete
with your friends over Bluetooth.
Or you could maybe do something fun
instead.
4. PocketHeat
99 cents
This app was originally marketed as a
way to warm your hands during the
winter month by making your iPhone
overheat by over-clocking the CPU and
accelerometer.
For some reason, people pointed out
that wasn’t a super idea. Now, for 99
cents it only simulates a heater – no heat
is given off.
Luckily, I still have a BlackBerry to warm
my hands.
5. iHome+Sleep
Free
Sure, your phone may already have an
alarm clock. But can it “enhance your
sleep lifestyle” with sleep statistics and
an editable sleep log?
Yeah, I didn’t think so.
Hey, it’s free. Just take it easy on the
snooze button.
6. Melon Meter
$1.99
I’ve long since given up on fresh fruit –
sorry, Mom. But if you want help
watermelon shopping, there’s always
the Melon Meter.
Turn on the $1.99 app and hold it next
to the melon as you give the fruit a tap.
Based on the sounds, you’ll be told
whether it’s ready to eat or not.
After all, melons don’t grow on trees.
Do they?
7. iFrenchKiss
Free
Given how much some people love
their iPhones, making out with the
phone may not be that big a step.
But with the free iFrenchKiss app,
when you give the phone a kiss it will
give you tops on technique.
The developers warn you not to
slobber all over your phone though –
that’s just bad technique all around.
