1. Project Proposal for ART3 Personal Investigation
Within the first week you are required to produce a Project Proposal. This will be
submitted as the first planning stage of your coursework, it is to be used in
conjunction with your teacher to help you decide on your personal investigation and
give you guidance. The idea generation should be submitted in your sketchbook,
The Project Proposal should be labelled in your sketchbook as follows and contain:
1. Personal Starting Point - What’s your personal starting point for your
Personal Investigation? What Genre of Photography are you going to
specialise in and why?
2. Idea generation – visual mood board of ideas, initial mind maps and
brainstorm of ideas for your assignment. Answer the following questions:
What ideas do you want to explore and why? What genre of photography
does it fall into? Is it the same/different to your summer project? Why? What
influence have the technical inductions had on your ideas?
3. Artist Research – who have you researched for your initial mood board
ideas? Which two photographers will you research and investigate for your
written study? Who else would be good to research? Collect ideas and state
the photographers you might research for your 1000-2000 word written
study with your mood board. You can aim to start your written study if your
confident.
4. Photoshoot - Your first shoot needs to be complete when you return from
Half Term. This needs to support initial ideas from your proposal and you
should take at least 50 photographs.
Deadline for project proposal: First lesson after half term 4 November
Bring images on a memory stick first day back.
First draft of written study to be emailed: First lesson of week 11 November
Written Study completed: First lesson of week 18 November
