In my artwork, I import a lot of black and white drawings, make transparent then work with 3d renders and colours below it. Live Trace in Adobe Illustrator is good but expensive, Inkscape offers free alternative with its Trace Bitmap tool. Check it out!
6. Go To Path In
The Menu And
Click ‘Trace
Bitmap’
7. Use The Options
In The Lower
Part Of The Pop
Up Box For
Easiest Results.
Increase Scans
For Amount Of
Gradient Colors
You Want In The
Trace Bitmap
Vector
Press Update
To Review The
Result Press
Ok When
Finished
8. Click And
Drag The Original
Image Away And
Delete If you
Want
9. You Will
See The
Image Is
Now A Vector
With Clean
Edges
10. Go To File And Press Export
Bitmap
Make Sure You Save As A .PNG File So That The White Background Is Transparent
11. Import The Image To An
Application Like Sketchbook
Pro Or Krita As A Layer
Drawing On The Layer
Below Shows That The
White Areas Of The
Imported
.PNG Are
Transparent
