- History In 1999, key individuals from the private, public, and educational sectors aligned to unify the IT industry in Chester County with a focus on workforce development targeting the future workforce by promoting technology careers to local high school and college students. 2. In 2006, ITAG expanded its vision to include communications technologies and was renamed the Innovative Technology Action Group. 3. ITAG re-organized to become a High Priority Occupation Regional Industry Partnership representing Information and Communication Services Technology industries supported by funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry 4.The new ITAG brought with it innovative ideas creative people dynamic initiatives and a renewed sense of purpose To create and sustain a regional partnership in Southeastern Pennsylvania that encourages technology companies and companies that use technology to grow their businesses in an increasingly sophisticated global marketplace The ITAG Mission is accomplished by working closely with participating companies, economic development agencies, and education/training partners to leverage workforce and business development resources on behalf of ITAG members.

- Pennsylvania is among the states with the highest number of green jobs. Advanced workforce policies and wise investments have made the state a national leader in creating and fostering a green economy.
- there are approximately 350,000 jobs across all five of the identified green sectors. The largest (59 percent) is Energy Efficiency with almost 206,000 jobs and more than 21,800 establishments. The other sectors are: Renewable Energy (Sample employers: wind turbine builders and electric utility companies) Clean Transportation (Sample employers: aircraft manufacturers and transportation management companies) Pollution Prevention & Environmental Cleanup (Sample employers: scientific research facilities and water treatment builders) Agriculture & Resource Conservation (Sample employers: corn farms and energy consulting companies)

- 1 - High Priority Occupations are those targeted by the commonwealth for workforce investment training monies because they are in-demand by employers, pay a family-sustaining wage and have higher skill requirements. Although the titles listed above are traditional occupations, many of the job duties performed by workers are expected to evolve as a direct result of investments in the five green sectors. 2 Considerably aided by this Recovery Act grant, the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry will undertake several activities, in coordination with other state agencies, Local Workforce Investment Boards, Industry Partnerships and employers to enhance its labor market infrastructure and gather information about this emerging economy, including: (1) Economy-wide employer surveys — to estimate current and anticipated green jobs, critical occupations, unique skill needs and potential skill shortages; (2) Employer focus groups and training needs surveys to augment traditional labor-market tools and more precisely define employers’ training needs; (3) Inventory of green education and training capacity drawing on the knowledge of Industry Partnerships and Local Workforce Investment Boards; (4) Job task analyses of emerging and “evolving” green occupations that enable customization of green curricula and assessment tools; and (5) Creation of an automated career tool (with information on wages, career paths and education/certification requirements) to market green jobs to job seekers.
- ITAG is committed to supporting the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry's Industry Partnership Program and values the resources offered for workforce education and training ITAG seeks to provide value-add business support services and resources to our industry clients. 3. ITAG is committee to cross-industry collaborations, as technology is seen as the backbone of industry, scaffolding all sectors For example, ITAG’s youth initiative GETT featured technology-based, hands on activities in technologies including Agriculture, Bioscience, Computer Forensics, Energy, Health Care, and Robotics. 4. The ITAG Board enjoys representation from Regional Workforce Investment Boards which inform partnership training activities and initiatives 5. The ITAG Board is designing support systems for ITAG participating companies and is collaborating with regional initiatives to support dislocated workers. 6. ITAG strives to sustain training and outreach programs to incumbent workers, dislocated workers, and youth
