   A Provincial administration is a local institution
    provided for by the Constitution of the Italian
    Republic.
   The provincial territory is divided into
    Municipalities, which are the closest institution
    to the citizen
   The Provincial administration has its own statute
    and regulations and has the task of taking care
    of the interests of the local community,
    promoting and coordinating its development.

   Planning and coordination for the 44
    Municipalities on its territory
   Reception and coordination of the proposals of
    the Municipalities and cooperation with the
    Regional administrations for the regional
    planning in the sectors of economy,
    environment and territory.

Functions and tasks of the
       Provincial administration of
                 Florence
   management tasks concerning the inter-
    municipal wide areas or the provincial territory.
    They range from the sectors of environment-
    territory and infrastructures to the sector of the
    services to individuals and to the community
    (safeguard and valorisation of cultural heritage,
    tasks connected to upper secondary
    education, vocational training,
    employment services).

services cooperates in the singling out of
the targets for the planning of the training
and guidance activities on the basis of
regional guidelines.

   The ESF financings are based on 5 priority areas
    (Axes):
   Axis I – Adaptability
   Axis II – Active Labour
   Axis III – Social Integration
   Axis IV – Human resources
   Axis V – Transnationality and inter-regionality

    (between 16 and 18 years old)

school (between 16 and 18 years old)

  Funds of the Ministry of labour - ESF Axis II

Type of trainings:
  courses of 2,100 hours (articulated in classroom-
  workshops-internship activities) with the purpose of
  obtaining a professional qualification of EQF level 2. For the
  year 2011-2012 the financing of € 2,835,000.00 was
  disposed in order to train circa 600 young people for 13
  different professions (cook, waiter, electrician, car
  mechanic, coach-builder, beautician, hairstylist...)

Unemployed adults
Employed fund:
 ESF axis II – axis IV

Type of trainings:
• training courses with the purpose of obtaining professional
  qualifications (articulated in classroom-workshops-internship
  activities). EQF levels 2,3,4.
• training addressed to high school diploma holders, graduates or
  people with a multi-year working experience in the sector; this
  courses are carried out in cooperation with vocational agencies, high
  schools and faculties of the university. EQF level 5 .
• specialisation and/or refresher courses for those who already have a
  basic qualification or a particular school education in order to obtain a
  specialization or refresh already acquired skills.

• specialisation and/or refresher courses for those who already have a
  basic qualification or a particular school education in order to obtain a

  training and guidance
• Short courses of linguistic and computer literacy

• Short courses inside prisons

•   Qualification courses addressed to young people
    within integrated three-years educational/training
    paths (classroom, workshops, internship activities) –
    Obtained qualifications: cook, waiter, storekeeper,
    organic farming operator, food packaging operator...

•   qualification courses (classroom, workshops and
    internship activities) addressed to people with
    specific disabilities (telephonist for visually
    impaired)
•   Apprenticeships at selected companies in
    cooperation with the employment service of the
    provincial district (Law 68/99) with a foregoing
    short employment guidance and addressed to
    young people coming from integrated
    school/training paths (ca. 50% employed)

A Provincial administration is a local institution provided for by the Constitution of the Italian Republic.  The provincial territory is divided into Municipalities, which are the closest institution to the citizen  The Provincial administration has its own statute and regulations and has the task of taking care of the interests of the local community, promoting and coordinating its development.
  • 3. Functions and tasks of the Provincial administration of Florence  Planning and coordination for the 44 Municipalities on its territory  Reception and coordination of the proposals of the Municipalities and cooperation with the Regional administrations for the regional planning in the sectors of economy, environment and territory. 3

They range from the sectors of environment- territory and infrastructures to the sector of the services to individuals and to the community (safeguard and valorisation of cultural heritage, tasks connected to upper secondary education, vocational training, employment services). 5

Young people precociously leaving school (between 16 and 18 years old) Employed fund Funds of the Ministry of labour - ESF Axis II Type of trainings: courses of 2,100 hours (articulated in classroom- workshops-internship activities) with the purpose of obtaining a professional qualification of EQF level 2. For the year 2011-2012 the financing of € 2,835,000.00 was disposed in order to train circa 600 young people for 13 different professions (cook, waiter, electrician, car mechanic, coach-builder, beautician, hairstylist...) 9

Unemployed adults Employed fund: ESF axis II – axis IV Type of trainings: • training courses with the purpose of obtaining professional qualifications (articulated in classroom-workshops-internship activities). EQF levels 2,3,4. • training addressed to high school diploma holders, graduates or people with a multi-year working experience in the sector; this courses are carried out in cooperation with vocational agencies, high schools and faculties of the university. EQF level 5 . • specialisation and/or refresher courses for those who already have a basic qualification or a particular school education in order to obtain a specialization or refresh already acquired skills. 10

  • 13. Training for professionals Employed fund:  ESF Axis I, Axis II, Axis III, Axis IV Type of training provided: • refresher and/or qualification-specialization courses 13
  • 14. Training for people in social hardship conditions Employed fund:  ESF Axis II, Axis III, Axis IV Type of training provided: • Apprenticeship with short initial period of employment training and guidance • Short courses of linguistic and computer literacy • Short courses inside prisons 14

People with disabilities Employed fund:  ESF Axis II, Axis III, Axis IV Type of training provided • Qualification courses addressed to young people within integrated three-years educational/training paths (classroom, workshops, internship activities) – Obtained qualifications: cook, waiter, storekeeper, organic farming operator, food packaging operator... 15

People with disabilities • qualification courses (classroom, workshops and internship activities) addressed to people with specific disabilities (telephonist for visually impaired) • Apprenticeships at selected companies in cooperation with the employment service of the provincial district (Law 68/99) with a foregoing short employment guidance and addressed to young people coming from integrated school/training paths (ca. 50% employed) 16
