      ITC and MACRS
      1. Solar Energy Equipment - Used solely to generate solar-based energy
            • ITC and MACRS apply in full to all solar energy components.

      2. Dual-Use Equipment - Used to generate both solar- and gas-based energy
            • For solar fractions below 75%, ITC and MACRS do not apply to dual-use equipment
            • For solar fractions above 75%, ITC and MACRS apply in a pro-rata manner (e.g. if
              annual energy output is 85% solar and 15% gas, ITC and MACRS apply to 85% of the
              dual-use equipment; if annual energy output is 65% solar and 35% gas, ITC and
              MACRS do not apply)

      3. Auxiliary Equipment - Used solely to generate gas-based energy
            •     ITC and MACRS do not apply to auxiliary equipment.


      Property Tax Reduction
      1. California - Adding a gas boiler reduces the tax exclusion on the dual use
         equipment to 75% of its full cash value

          Existing gas-fired, combined-cycle power plants can readily mix AREVA’s solar-generated steam with
          the power plant’s intermediate pressure (IP) evaporator or cold reheat steam.
