Near Field Communication (NFC) is a short-range wireless technology that allows communication between devices when touched or held within close proximity. It was developed in 2004 by Nokia, Philips, and Sony with the formation of the NFC Forum. NFC works by enabling contactless transactions, sharing of contact information, and connecting electronic devices simply through touching or bringing them close together without needing to pair or configure the devices.
