The every day pain of students, working class people like
us who travel daily to colleges, offices in regions where
there is no direct Metro/Bus connectivity and the
unavailability of a direct public transport in impromptu
and emergency situations made us come up with E-
Carpool.com!
Repercussions
People face an uncomfortable ride in public transport (unable to get
seats, huge rush in buses and metros , expensive autos/taxis etc), which
forces commuters to travel through their own vehicles for a comfortable
ride leading to increased traffic on roads.
Lack of organised carpooling mechanism in India
Commuters going to the same destination don’t pool their cars because of
lack of an organised carpooling mechanism.

6. SPECIAL FEATURES
• After every ride the pool partners can give points or ratings or feedbacks regarding the car and the car
owner regarding his driving, behaviour, car condition, reliability etc on the forum.
• In this way, a person with higher rating will be preferred by other users in the future over others

•If it takes person X Rs. 150 worth of petrol to travel from GK to Gurgaon ,
he saves minimum of Rs. 100 on petrol costs if he carpools with two other commuters.
•Taking average working days in a month to be 20 , the person X will save 100 x 20 = Rs 2000 per month.
•Gives the comfort of a car at a very cheap price.

•Reduces vehicles on roads leading to lesser traffic jams and parking crunches

Reduces CO2 Emissions
•For every litre of petrol used in a motor vehicle, 2.3 kilograms of carbon dioxide (CO2 ) is
released.
•If we have say there are 13,000 users, and assuming they carpool in groups of 3.
• No of vehicles that are reduced = 9166 vehicles.
•Let the average distance travelled by each group = 25km.
•Then, no. of car kilometers saved = 9166 x 25 = 2,29,150 km/day
•Let us assume the average mileage given by a car = 10km/litre.
•Then litres of petrol saved in one day = 22,915 litres
•CO2 emissions saved in one day = 22,915 x 2.3 kg
= 52,704.5 kg of CO2 emission per day.
