Fashion Designer Jonathan Blake Expands Team
With Addition of Holly Thompson and Julia Garza
HOUSTON, Texas (July 24, 2014) – Fashion designer Jonathan Blake is continuing
to expand his clothing and accessory line with the help of two new team members --Holly
Thompson and Julia Garza. Both have prior fashion industry experience.
Jonathan Blake launched his fashion line in October 2012 at the age of 21. He
opened the Jonathan Blake Atelier in Houston in July 2013. Jonathan Blake, 23, has
introduced four couture collections and a collection of handbags made of exotic skins and
fine leathers. All Jonathan Blake clothing and handbags are made in the United States.
“Continuing to evolve as a designer and to branch out beyond Houston are high
priorities for me,” Jonathan explained. “Holly and Julia are valuable assets who are helping
me to support and build my client base while I begin developing relationships and business
opportunities in other cities. I am focusing first on the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Aspen, New
York and southern California – and then I will branch out beyond the U.S.”
Thompson serves as sales manager for Jonathan Blake and is based at the Jonathan
Blake Atelier in Houston. She is responsible for arranging private consultations and fittings
for clients. She also assists with marketing and business development initiatives, organizing
and staffing Jonathan Blake fashion shows, trunk shows, private receptions, and charitable
commitments.
Thompson previously worked as a buyer for a luxury lingerie company, Dolce Bella
Lingerie, and as a manager and event specialist for Elaine Turner, a luxury accessories
brand. She graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Fashion
Merchandising and a minor in Business Administration.
About her work with Jonathan Blake and his clients, Thompson said: “I love my
clients! Working with people and helping them find the perfect look to make them feel

2. beautiful is fun and extremely rewarding. We are a great team. We learn from each other
and challenge each other every day. I am enjoying working directly with Jonathan and
being so close to the creative process. Every day is exciting and different.”
Garza joined Jonathan Blake as the office manager and assistant to the designer.
Garza, who speaks and writes Spanish fluently, supports international clients with
translations and scheduling appointments across time zones and borders. She also
coordinates client orders with the Jonathan Blake production team.
“I enjoy being part of the creative process with Jonathan and Holly, and I am
thankful that my Spanish language skills are helping to bridge language barriers with clients
and suppliers,” Garza said.
Prior to joining Jonathan Blake, Garza gained extensive fashion and retail experience
with Ann Taylor LOFT, The Limited, Forever 21, Sears, American Heart Association’s Go
RED for Women, Fashion Group International of Dallas, Manuel Designs, Sonrise Apparel
LLC, Craig Mueller, David Peck USA, and Dress for Success Houston. She has worked
alongside designers in helping them to evaluate materials and styles for their collections
and other aspects of the design process.
Garza earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fashion Design from Texas Woman’s
University with a minor in Spanish Language Studies. She earned third place recognition
from Fashion Group International of Dallas for Suiting and Outerwear in 2006.
