6. A quick look at a blog…
Some other important information about blogs:
Keyword Phrase: Bold the Keyword phrase at least once.
Meta Keyword tags & Meta Description Tags: They are a brief and concise list of
the most important themes of your page and should be used through out your text.
They are included as keyword phrases and you can normally have up to 10 keyword
phrases within your text.
Blog Tags: They are a way to organize similar posts and each tag represents a
separate RSS feed that readers can subscribe to. These can be added via your
blogging software.
Header 2, 3, 4 etc: Include the primary keyword phrases in as many relevant header
tags as possible.
Calls to Actions (CTA): Make sure your blog or site offers some type of “Unique
Value Proposition” (UVP) or some other type of “CTA” to hook your reader!!

website through their themes quickly & easily!!! They will provide you
with everything you need and the best part about it, you don’t need much
web experience and you can allow multiple people to create it!!

8. Where to start?
There’s a bunch of free and premium services to choose from:
• WordPress (I use this and love it)
• Typepad
• Squarespace
• Live Journal
• Blogger (Google owns them)
• Xanga
• And many, many more….

9. WordPress
I started out using TypePad, though switched over
to Wordpress and love it. The best part about
using a blog service like WordPress & TypePad is
that they are actually dynamic content
management systems (CMS) which in laymen’s
terms means that all of your content can easily be
transferred from one blogging service to another
and you can easily change the look and feel of your
blogs….

10. WordPress
You can start today with a free WordPress Blog by
going to their website and creating one!!
I recommend taken a few more steps and securing your
own domain name (www.yourname.com) and hosting
your blog on it.
This will make it easier for people to find your website /
blog!! I’ve covered how to secure your own domain and
install WordPress on it in a different presentation.

15. Some other Key pieces of
WordPress
Themes: Themes allow users to change the look & functionality of a
WordPress site. Themes can be changed via the WordPress
Dashboard or uploaded via FTP.
Plugins: These are programs that plug into the WordPress software
in order to extend what the software can do. In short, they make sure
WordPress site better by adding everything from slideshows to
contact forms!!
Widgets: These are small modules that offer users drag-and-drop
sidebar content placement and implementation of many plugins'
extended abilities (i.e. Facebook like buttons, news, advertisements)

16. WordPress Themes
The WordPress theme is your website’s design and background which you
can easily change. There are 1000’s of free and premium WordPress
themes and these can be found within your WordPress dashboard or by
Googling “WordPress Themes”.
The great thing about WordPress is that you can change themes and all of
the content of your website will be transferred into the new theme
automatically!!
If you’re a little more daring, you can choose a WordPress theme that contains some html
(normally the home page) which will give your site the feel of a traditional site with the ease
and functionality of a WordPress Site!!

18. WordPress Mobile
The future of the internet will be through mobile devices and the
architecture of WordPress websites (CMS) helps you to ease into the
Mobile medium because many of the themes are Mobile capable and
there are numerous WordPress Plugins that allow your site to be
displayed in a user friendly format on a mobile device!
You can Google many different
WordPress Mobile solutions and one
