Burg Eltz is a medieval castle located on a 70m rock spur along the Moselle River in Germany. It is surrounded on three sides by the Elzbach River and has never been conquered or destroyed in over 1000 years, remaining in the Eltz family to this day. The castle contains homes belonging to different branches of the Eltz family, with portions open to the public while other areas are still privately used.
