This document summarizes a conservation project in 13 counties and 15 watersheds across 4 million acres. It restored over 3.4 miles of coldwater streams and reconnected 160 miles of river habitat in the Great Lakes region at a cost of $1.2 million, funded primarily through the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative. Before and after photos show improvements including dam removals and habitat restoration. The project aims to enhance recreation and reduce risks while benefiting the regional $18 billion tourism industry.
