RESEARCH AND INSPIRATION
NME 60’S Photography The pictures on the following page were taken by John “Hoppy” Hopkins, a free lance photographer who’s photo’s often featured for NME over 40’s years ago.
The Smiths The Smiths were a popular band according to my market research , I decided to look into early photographs of The Smiths to see how photography has progressed from the 60’s to the 80’s. I am not particually interested in covering the 70’s genre so I have skipped out that era.
Marcus Doyle Marcus Doyle is a current photographer that puts a vintage twists on his photos, I will use him as inspiration for the backgrounds for my photos. Because although his photography does not seem relevant (he photographs landscapes) I can still use him as inspiration for the general set up and composition for my shots .
I love the vast differentiation in colour schemes, each photo as a clear cut colour.
MOOD BOARD
My own photos A while ago I took some of my own photo’s based on the neo classical, vintage look explored in this presentation. For my shoot I am going to mix this look with an edgy rock style to go with the “alternative” genre of music.
