When researching I looked film
magazines for more in depth film
reviews. Below are the popular film
magazine ‘Empire’ frontcovers to
find someinformation about horror
films. Here are the frontcovers for
two of the magazines I analysed.
Looking at horror filmreviews will give me an in depth idea of whatfilm critics
like to see in horror films and what could need improvement, it’ll help me
know whatto include in my trailer and what not too.
Here is a shortreview of the horror film
‘ParanormalActivity 3’ and gives not much
explanation behind their star based reviews, so
this did not provideme with a lot of inspiration.
This is a longer review of the film
‘Insidious’ it again provides a short
summary of the filmand then their
opinion. Because this was a film that
inspired me to do a filmtrailer, I was
interested to see what critics thought.
They even say it ‘Its go ripples of
Goosebumps’ to show how scary the film
is. It states that ‘Easily lives up to its title
– a gradual sense of burring unease’ so I am going to try and incorporate that same sense
for my trailer as the critics really enjoyed that in this film.
