2. Imagine for design #1
For are materials we used river rocks and we used
one piece of flat dark foam.
Advantages the river rocks can be reused and it is
natural and it can last a long time also the foam is thick
and can act as a good insulator.
Disadvantages the foam takes a long time to
decompose in a landfill and it is processed.

3. Imagine for design #1
Are materials two pieces of flat felt and one
piece of shredded dark foam.
Advantages the two materials dark foam
and felt are the best insulators.
Disadvantages they both can not be recycled
and they both have a lot of ink in them.

How will we use
the material
Felt 2 pieces
We are going to
leave the felt flat
Foam 1piece
We are going to
shred the foam
into pieces

Our heat score is our solar oven maximum
temperature subtracted from the solar oven:
72°c- 55°c=17°c
Our score time is the number of minuets it took to
cool down witch was 4 minutes.
Our total impact score was 11 points the total
points for the solar oven is 10 points.

11. Improve for design #1
The total score for are first solar oven was 11 points
The parts of our solar oven that worked well were the
shredded foam because it was the one that kept most of
the heat inside the box.
The parts of the solar oven that did not work well was the
felt because it did not help a lot with keeping the heat in.
We are going to try to improve are heat score.
We will Improve are heat score by adding more foam
because is was the best insulator and it will keep the heat
in.

19. Reflection
Our improved design worked well because the
temperature got higher faster then the other materials.
The materials we used were good insulators because they
kept most of the heat in the solar oven.
If we could improve again we would keep it the same or
use more shredded felt because it is good insulation.
