As a result many soldiers kept diaries and wrote letters home. The soldiers did not write about the horrors of fighting in their letters home because they did not want to upset their families. The letters were also censored to make sure that the letters did not contain information that would give away any important military details. The soldiers also kept diaries of their life in the trenches and these give us more detailed information about trench life. You need to independently research the life of soldiers in the trenches and create a diary about their experiences. You must include: What the trenches were like (weather, mud, type of shelter) Food Clothes Dangers Any other interesting information you have found out
