Herman who co-founded the Brown & Root engineering firm, and Jesse H. Jones who founded the Houston Industries corporation. More recent entrepreneurs include Dan Duncan who founded Enterprise Products, Bob McNair who founded the Houston Texans football franchise, and various founders of technology startups nurtured by the Houston Technology Center.
