Business Development Consultant - Groupon Getaways
Duties, Responsibilities and Skills
Groupon Getaways is a trusted community marketplace for people to list, discover, and
book unique accommodations around the world – online or from a mobile phone.
Whether a romantic getaway for a night, a castle for a week, or a villa for a month,
Groupon Getaways connects travel-minded people to unique travel experiences, at any
price point around the world. It is an online marketing platform with 60 million active
travelers and explorers.
Groupon is looking to expand our business development team to further the Groupon
Getaways mission and expand the reach of our markets and services to provide
inspiring travel experiences for our hosts and guests around the world.
The Business Development Manager supports and leads initiatives to engage with
business partners on new relationships. S/he supports structure and negotiates deals
that expand and grow the reach of your business.
The Business Development Manager helps support and acquire new hosts and guests
through large scale platform deals that co-promote and incentivize new people to list
their properties and travel with Groupon Getaways.
Job Duties
 Identify partnership opportunities. Forge and develop relationships to enable
continued rapid growth and service expansion of Groupon Getaways.
 Support in all aspects of deal execution, including prioritization of partners, strategic
and product assessment, transaction structuring and negotiation.
 Engage in ongoing management of key established relationships, and maintaining
accountability for the health of the partnership.
 Work with cross functional teams in engineering, product, marketing, operations,
community, legal and finance to ensure alignment on partnerships and business
requirements.
 Pilot new initiatives and business agreements in markets, evaluate their impact on
business and determine the most effective scope/approach for any follow-on rollout.
 Demonstrate strong leadership through robust execution of projects and initiatives.
Skills Used
 Proven record in developing, analyzing, and modeling business cases, as well as
understanding of legal agreements.
 Strong negotiating skills; experience crafting deals and developing business
relationships that improve company performance.
 Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task with excellent organization skills.
 Excellent internal and external communicator and strong interpersonal skills.
 Communicate complex details simply.
 Comfort with a fast-paced environment and changing requirements.
 Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty and
ambiguity.
 Can-do attitude, strategic thinker and passion for new products and solutions.
