Six Males and Four Females – There is a nice balance for my audience, almost the perfect
balance.

From these results it is obvious my target audience are teenagers and young adults. It will
probably relate to my audience more if the characters in my video were also around this
age.

3. Bearing in mind it is a Folk song, what
location is best suited for a music
video for Ben Howard - Gracious?

The Forest was the most popular location being
chose by 6 people, one person chose the Park, 3
chose the Beach and no one chose the Pub. Filming
my video in a forest is an ideal location for a Folk
music video, as it is a great opportunity to get shots
of nature, and a lot of Folk artists film in the
country too. The beach was another good location
that I could use, as the song’s lyrics quote ‘Cause
you said ours were the lighthouse towers, The sand
upon that place’. No sand can be found in the
forest or beach, and no lighthouse, I hope my video
will not contradict the song if I do shoot the video
in a forest, instead of at the beach.

4. Do you think the singer for my music
video should look like Ben Howard?

With seven people answering with ‘No’ and 3
answering ‘Yes’, I will not use a singer who
looks like Ben Howard. The reason I have been
told not to do this is because Ben Howard isn’t
a first choice of an artist associated with Folk
music, and his style doesn’t fully convey Folk
music’s genre conventions. I will try get
someone who looks like a Folk artist, looks
wise, but Ben Howard does look a lot like a
typical Folk artist but doesn’t always follow the
Folk style. So, I will be sure my singer wears
clothes that you would associate with Folk
music. Braces, Skinny jeans, converse shoes
etc.
