I could start off with this…talking about a crack in your foundation. We all know resources are limited and you may ask, could it be so bad? Why does it matter? If our mission statement is up there, some contact information someplace on the web, we should be fine? That’s not true. Everyone’s time is a premium. We are hit by thousands of bits of media every day. Don’t let your first impression get lost in the clutter. Most people go online to research everything and causes they are interested in. Even if they know you, they’ll go directly to your website to find out more about what you’re doing. Cygnus Donor Survey in 2012, said that 32% of donors not intending to give on their recent visit to the orgs website made a gift as a result of what they learned. 83% said they conduct research by going to the website. What do you think about showing them an example of a really bad site?
Prospective donors want to know what will be accomplished with their gifts should donors choose to contribute and what has been accomplished recently
