Ofcom has returned from the Regional Radio Conference 2006, the
international frequency planning forum, with approval for its plans to use
spectrum to launch a second national digital multiplex and to offer further local
DAB multiplexes. However, the new national multiplex will cover only 85% to
95% of the country, and will provide “little coverage” in Kent, parts of East
Anglia and the south coast.
