Introduction
 Hi everyone, my name is Giacomo Mederico, I’m an English
Teacher at the Instituto Jean Piaget in Caracas, Venezuela. For
today’s lesson I’m going to explain what the possessive and
demonstrative adjectives are. I’ll explain the different types of
adjectives and its uses and applications in English both in oral and
written context.
Part 1: What are Adjectives?
 Adjectives are words that describe or gives qualities to the noun or
a pronoun in the sentence. For example: the house is red. The word
red is an adjective in this sentence.
 They are always near the noun or pronoun they are describing.
 Adjectives can be of many types, like:
 Possessive adjectives: My pencil is different than yours.
 Demonstrative adjectives: This is a pencil
 Descriptive adjectives: We all live the yellow submarine.
 Quantitative adjectives: Some houses near my house were demolished.
 Interrogative adjectives: Which skateboards are yours?
 Numeric: I have two pair of shoes.
Part 2: What are Demonstrative
Adjectives?
 Demonstrative adjectives are adjectives that tell us where an
object is located and how many objects there are.
 Demonstrative adjectives are:
 This.
 That.
 These.
 Those.
Part 3: How to use Demonstrative
Adjectives
 First of all we must know how to use the demonstrative adjectives.
 As we’ve mentioned before, the demonstrative adjectives are this,
that, these, those.
 This is used to locate one object that is near.
 That is used to locate one object that is far from us.
 These is used to locate objects that are near.
 Those is used to locate objects that are far.

whom things belong or, in other words, they show possession.

 My.
 Yours.
