2. Cover
For my cover photo I have
made the artist look happy, by
having her smile and I have
enhanced the make up to make
it match the pink tones in the
writing on the cover. This also
gave the artist a more youthful
look. I found this out by
comparing what the image
looked like with or without the
enhancement. The less make
up and less colour the more
serious and warm the
magazine looked (this was not
the look i wanted) so instead I
added the colour and turn the
saturation up on the image and
enhanced the contrast and
brightness.
3. I also made sure the artist
was making eye contact on
the front cover to interact
with the audience.
I also polished up the image
by making sure the artists
skin was clear and the were
no loose hairs (I did this with
the healing tool on
photoshop) I also whitened
the teeth.

When it came to the artists
clothing I chose to make it
simple so that bold colour of
the writing on the cover would
stand out. I also chose a dark
colour so that the artists figure
would stand out even better
against the white backdrop.
The photo wasn’t meant to look
edgy or revealing because the
magazine is aimed at young
teens, so I made sure the artist
was well dressed and in
something stylish a younger
audience could and would like
to wear.
5. Cover
For the cover of my magazine I have also represented the main
artist as lively through the text. The main headline is in the centre of
the page and reads as ‘HANNAH’ then there is a quote underneath
it that reads ‘Feel alive with my new album!’ I also added a
punctuation mark at the end of the sentence to make the sentence
loud.
6. Contents
I have represented the artists on my contents page in a
slightly more serious manner than I did on my front
cover for the magazine. The artists are posing more for
the photos this time. I chose to make them pose more
to give each photo a slightly more mysterious vibe so
there is more of a story behind each photo (something
that will interest readers)
7. CONTENTS
For the artists on my contents page they
are dressed in smart-casual clothes for
example the artist named ‘Jon’ has his
shirt slightly unbuttoned and his tie
loose giving off a ‘not bothered’ vibe, but
because it’s a shirt and tie it still keeps a
level of sophistication.
The artist called Hannah has her coat
unzipped and is looking directly at the
camera to add a slight edge to the
casual style of the photo. She also has a
quote from one of her interviews that
reads ‘A brand new album, for a brand
new me’.
8. CONTENTS
For the main feature on the
contents page I wanted a
quirky, eye catching outfit so
chose to dress my artist in a
faux fur coat. I made sure I
took the photo again with the
white backdrop so that the
faux fur stood out and didn’t
blend in with its surrounding's.
The artist wearing the faux fur
is representing fashion by
wearing such a statement
outfit and could also be
representing individuality.
9. Article
My article features the same girl
that was on the contents page
(Poppy Beamish) There were a lot
of opportunities to shape the
personality of the artist. So through
the text I made her sound
encouraging by highlighting quotes
like ‘NEVER GIVE UP’. I also tried
to represent her a someone who is
down to earth and understands life
even at her young age to reassure
the younger audience who look up
to her. I did this by again
highlighting a quote that reads
‘THERE ARE UPS AND DOWNS
TO EVERY THING’
10. ARTICLE
The artists posture is different in this shot to, I wanted her personality to be projected
through the photo so her pose is in a shy posture with a hint of mischief in her smile.
This adds an air of mystery to the article. The photo also looks a little edgier than the
last because there is leather in this shot as well as fur.
Overall the artist is presented as an encouraging person who has a new found love
for life.
