2. PDHPE promotes a healthy lifestyle and healthy habits that can stay with students
for life.
This means healthier happier students now, and hopefully also later in life.
Physical activity can become a good habit. This can be promoted through active
participation in PDHPE in these early years. Children will develop skills to participate
in a variety of activities and coordination and fitness to avoid injuries.
Physical activity incorporated in PDHPE along with a healthy diet can minimise
students chance of becoming obese and other harmful effects of an increasingly
sedentary modern lifestyle.
3. Problem solving, Communicating, Interacting with others, and Decision
Making are all part of PDHPE.
These skills are important to the social and personal development of
students.
These skills are also an invaluable resource in other KLAs.
These skills set the foundation for successful interactions with others
essential to most future career paths.
4. PDHPE teaches and promotes personal safety, respect for self
and others.
Rights and respect for difference are promoted developing
students into better citizens within diverse communities.
