Axyoma Group is a biotechnology consulting firm that provides services in sustainability solutions, bioenergetics, and bioremediation. Their mission is to help customers become more sustainable and competitive through biotechnological projects involving microalgae, biofuels, bioreactors, and more. As an example, they describe a bioenergetics project using photofermentative fuel production from cyanobacteria to efficiently convert CO2 and water into biofuels.
2. Mission
Axyoma group's mission is to address our customers into
the new scheme of sustainable competitiveness and
business symbiosis.

OPPORTUNITIES
Background
The Opportunity
Grow and Reinvent.
Axyoma (Solutions in Biotechnology, Bioenergetics and
Bioremediation) is a business project developed by the first Latin
America generation of engineers in Biobusiness, supported by a
multidisciplinary professors and researchers team that provides to
companies a service of diagnostic, design and development of
mainly food or biotechnological companies and projects
improvements that increase the commercial value, the
sustainability, and the efficiency of their production processes .
9. EXAMPLE
PROJECT
Example
Example
Bioenergetics Project.
Axyoma has a Bioenergetics (Biofuel) improvement
project, based on photofermentative fuel production.
*In the next slides, there is a brief condensate of one our projects,
shown as an example of the biobusiness services and bioproduct
development that Axyoma business project offers.
10. What is the Concept?
Various fermentation pathways from
a chemotrophic organism could be
introduced by genetic engineering
into a cyanobacterium. Endogenous
metabolism will provide the newly
introduced enzymes with precursor
metabolites to desired products. This
would represent an efficient
improvement to biofuel production.

Founder & President of Axyoma.
| THE IDEA |
This project departs from the idea that it
is possible to achieve full light driven
conversion of CO2 and water molecules
into Biofuels by the combination of
primary
reactions
based
in
photosynthesis and the known Calvin
cycle with a fermentative pathway from
chemoheterotrophic
microorganisms
combined in a single smart-designed
organism.
11. Why is it necessary?
High oil prices and global warning that
accompany the use of fossil fuels are
an incentive to find alternative forms of
energy supply such as photosynthetic
biofuel production.
Why is it promising?
Studies show that compared to 1st
generation (plant-based) and 2nd
generation (algae-based) productions,
Photofermentative biofuels represent
superior maximal theoretical yields of
Biofuel generation process.
| THE BASIS|
It already exist many designed process to
generate biofuels like ethanol from algae
biomass. The theoretical migration to
smart-designed cianobacterias instead of
algae to produce Biofules, other than
ethanol, such as buthanol, is not only
reliable, but highly efficient, promising to
help in the solution of green-house gases
effects.
