Flexible Working Hours Flexible working hours is pretty much the allowance of an easier and less monotonous level of work with employees. It allows employees to be able to work on a level that they may be comfortable with and also tends to reduce the stress and melt down levels, according to studies.
Flexible Working Hours Employer Benefits are as follow: Reduces or avoids unnecessary recruitment costs  Avoids squandering the talents of older people  Positive effects on employee health  Promotes diversity and fairness throughout the workplace  Holds on to experienced older workers  Leads to higher staff morale  Enhances corporate memory
Part-Time Work Part-Time Work is essentially the same thing as full time, just that the amount of work is halved, thus giving the employee more leisure time to themselves, and less strain from the potential pressure of work with projects, designs and such that need to meet a client’s standards. Though the wage is also halved, it is redeemed by the fact that more free time is given to the employee.
Part-Time Work Benefits are as follow: Minimises wages but still meet peak business demand  Increases retention of experienced/skilled employees  Provides flexible working arrangement for older workers to prolong their working life  Allows employers the opportunity to extend hours of business  Reduces recruitment/turnover/absenteeism costs  Minimizes turnover rates in monotonous, repetitive physical jobs  Assists employees with conflicting out of work commitments
Job Sharing Job Sharing is essentially Part-Time work, except instead of just one employee, it’s two, and they both split the hours of a full time worker and work those hours evenly. This is especially good for workers who do not want to work full-time anymore and wish to continue working in order to retain their skill level and experience.
Job Sharing Benefits are as follow: Reduced turnover of staff from jobs that are demanding, monotonous or repetitive  Provide flexibility in covering each job sharing partner during sick/annual leave  Allow employers to extend hours of operation without incurring overtime costs  Covering reception duties continuously during business hours (eg. no employee lunch  break to cover)  Bring wider range of skills to one position  Opportunities for job sharers to support and learn from each other  Offers wider recruitment options
Working From Home Working from home has become an increasingly common trend among digital media jobs, as most finished content and such can be emailed and sent over due to a now established and fast internet connection. That being said, working from home benefits many employees in several different ways. Sometimes it’s a requirement as the employee is perhaps incapacitated, or perhaps it was simply an allowable arrangement with the management, giving more creative freedom and comfort to the employee.
Working From Home Benefits are as follow: Increased productivity of employees, eg. because of less time spent socialising and no  office politics, greater ability to concentrate due to less noise and fewer interruptions  Retention of valued employees who might otherwise leave the organisation  Savings on office space and associated costs  Balancing the demands of being a working parent by reducing commuting time  Help for employees with responsibilities for care of older family members, partner care  or care of a family member with a disability.  Part Year Employment/Seasonal Work  Part year or seasonal employment allows employees to work an agreed number of  days/weeks/months over the year.  Allows employers to meet peak business demands according to needs  Allows employees to work part of the year that suits their particular lifestyle  Provide flexible working arrangements for older workers to prolong their working lives
Conclusion To summarise what I’ve just discussed with you, once moved into a new office, there are several ways in which you can work, particularly in such an industry where creativity is encouraged. Hopefully with this list of work practices and methods, you’ve come to a basic understanding as to what kind of options you have as an employee of the company, and just how much more flexible the digital media workforce actually is.
